The church emphasizes Christ-centered teaching, vibrant worship, and strong community engagement. Members and leaders work together to support individuals and families through ministries, outreach, and fellowship. Paradise Missionary Baptist Church values excellence, humility, and collaboration in all areas of ministry, including its music program.

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Church Musician role based in Lansing, MI. The Church Musician will plan and lead music for worship services, rehearsals, and special events, coordinating with pastoral staff and ministry leaders to support the churchโ€™s worship vision. Daily responsibilities include preparing and arranging music, rehearsing with choirs, praise teams, and instrumentalists, and accompanying congregational singing on primary instruments (such as keyboard, organ, or piano). The role also involves selecting appropriate music for various services, maintaining musical equipment and resources, and fostering a positive, inclusive environment for volunteers and music team members. The Church Musician is expected to be present for regular weekly services, rehearsals, and seasonal programs, and to participate in staff meetings and ministry planning as needed.

Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency on at least one primary instrument commonly used in worship (e.g., keyboard, organ, piano), with the ability to read music and/or play by ear.
