Lifesteps is hiring a Full-Time Home Visitor to work in the Early Head Start program based in Beaver Falls, PA.

Position Summary:

Early Head Start Home Visitor positions are responsible for providing child development services and supportive services to families with infants, toddlers, and expectant mothers. The Home Visitor / Family Educator will work with typically developing children and children with disabilities to effectively implement the Early Head Start home-based curriculum.

Home Visitors connect families with community partners to provide social services, as needed, on topics such as health services, child socializations, child advocacy, crisis intervention, parent involvement training, etc. Documentation is also a large portion of the Family Educator role.

The Home Visitors report to the office each day (located in Chippewa / Beaver Falls) and then drive the company vehicle to the home visiting appointments in Beaver County. Family educators build trusting relationships and are advocates for the pregnant moms and babies they are supporting.

Full-time positions work a schedule of Monday through Friday 8 am to 4:30 pm. Occasional Evenings & Weekends No Holidays. Company Vehicle Provided for use during the work day.


Position Requirements:

  • Associate Degree (AA) in Early Childhood Education, Child Development and Family Relations, Special Education, Social Work or Human Services (or related field).
  • Demonstrate competency to plan and implement home-based learning experiences that ensure effective implementation of the home visiting curriculum and promote children’s progress
  • Knowledge in infant/toddler development/education/health/nutrition/safety as well as family dynamics and adult learning principles.
  • Knowledge of community resources and the skills to link families with the appropriate agencies and services.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete basic computer tasks or Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds without assistance.
  • Current driver’s license and the ability to travel for business.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education (or related field)
  • Bilingual English/Spanish speaking
  • Experience working with families, expectant mothers and/or children birth-3.
