The Opportunity:

West Liberty University is seeking applications for Bus Drivers. This position is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of students and employees to and from events by maintaining an orderly and disciplined bus environment. This is a casual position (as needed).

Responsibilities:

Operate vans & coach buses to transport University students, chaperones, coaches, trainers, etc. to and from athletic and student development related activities.

  • Responsible for the safety of assigned students, chaperones, coaches, trainers, etc. during transportation related activities.
  • Responsible for performing and documenting pre- and post- trip inspections of buses and vans; must report documented, needed repairs or service work to Fleet Coordinator.
  • Responsible to drive bus, van, or other assigned vehicle as required, adhering to both the itinerary and the directions.
  • Responsible for ensuring the bus is cleaned and prepared for subsequent trips when assigned trip is complete.
  • Responsible for participating in training mandated by the University.
  • Compliance Responsibilities: Read, interpret, and apply policies and procedures in assigned area; document as required by policies and procedures; maintain qualifications and certification and complete annual training as required by position.
  • Must be available for nights, weekends, and extended trips.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Minimum 1 year experience required.
  • Knowledge of first aid and CPR preferred.
  • Current DOT physical
  • Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with Class C passenger endorsement required.
