SEASONAL CEMETERY WORKER CLOSING DATE: Open until FilledPAY RATE: $14.21 per hourSCHEDULE: Monday through Friday (occasional shifts for holidays and weekends). Seasonal work expected to end around Thanksgiving.DEPARTMENT: Cemetery JOB SUMMARY Performs a variety of duties related to the maintenance of:Cemetery Grounds maintenanceString trimming around headstonesWeeding and landscape bed maintenanceMaintaining and cleaning restrooms Irrigation SystemsLight and heavy equipment operatingWorking outside in various elementsGreat attitude and able to communicate with citizens in a respectable manner. RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge in maintaining turf and landscape areas with skills including irrigation, planting, weeding, and general upkeep of greenspaceAbility to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.Ability to communicate.Ability to learn to operate and maintain maintenance equipment such as mowers, chain saws, pruning equipment, and hand tools.Ability to develop effective working relationships with supervisors, co-workers and the public.Must pass a background and drug test.Must be 16 years old or older (Preference will be given to applicants 18 and older with a valid driver's license).***If some of these qualifications are lacking, we are still interested if you are a hard worker that is willing to learn and be an effective member of the Cemetery team.Employment in this position is conditional upon passing a pre-employment background and drug test.
