Job description

Lead Low Voltage Technician – CCTV & Access Control
High-Tech Security is seeking an experienced Full-Time Lead Low Voltage Technician with a strong background in CCTV, IP cameras, Access Control, networking, and troubleshooting.
This is NOT primarily a cable-pulling position. We are looking for an experienced technician who can lead a crew, configure and program systems, troubleshoot issues, and take ownership of projects from installation through completion.
High-Tech Security has been serving the Los Angeles area for over 30 years. We specialize in commercial CCTV, Access Control, networking, and low-voltage systems, primarily for the hospitality and property management industries. We work with leading manufacturers including Avigilon, Verkada, ExacqVision, Axis, Ubiquiti, and others.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and oversee low-voltage technicians and installation crews
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot IP cameras, NVRs, servers, and VMS systems
  • Add and configure cameras on NVRs/servers
  • Install, troubleshoot, and program Access Control systems

  • Work with card readers, controllers, REX devices, door contacts, electric strikes, maglocks, and related equipment
  • Visit jobsites and perform Quality Control
  • Troubleshoot CCTV and Access Control issues in the field
  • Understand IP addressing, PoE, network switches, routers, and basic networking
  • Configure port forwarding when required for remote camera access
  • Tone, test, terminate, and troubleshoot Cat6 cabling
  • Build equipment racks and properly dress, organize, and label cabling
  • Communicate professionally with customers, IT departments, property managers, and our office
  • Keep jobsites clean and professional
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of commercial CCTV/low-voltage experience preferred

  • Strong hands-on experience with IP CCTV and Access Control

  • Ability to configure and troubleshoot cameras and NVRs — not just install or pull cable

  • Experience programming and troubleshooting Access Control systems
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Basic networking knowledge
  • Experience leading or supervising technicians
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs.
  • Strong customer-service and communication skills
  • Full-time availability, Monday–Friday
Preferred Experience:
  • Avigilon Unity / ACC

  • Avigilon ACM Access Control

  • Verkada
  • ExacqVision
  • Axis
  • Ubiquiti
  • Commercial intrusion/alarm systems
  • A/V systems
Avigilon experience is highly preferred, especially adding/configuring Avigilon cameras, working with Avigilon NVRs/servers, and troubleshooting CCTV and Access Control systems.
We Provide:
  • Competitive compensation based on experience
  • Paid Time Off
  • Paid Sick Leave
  • Tools as needed
  • Manufacturer/product training
  • Support from our team and manufacturer partners
  • Opportunity for long-term growth
Please Note: We are looking for a Lead Technician, not just a cable installer. The right candidate should be comfortable configuring, programming, troubleshooting, and commissioning CCTV and Access Control systems while leading other technicians in the field.
