Job Description:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our innovative team. The successful candidate will have a solid background in mechanical design within the aerospace sector, with proficiency in Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Teamcenter PLM. Preferred candidates will also have experience with highly parametric modeling techniques, 3D electrical harness routing, FEA, and CFD.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Mechanical Design: Design and develop complex aerospace components and systems, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, performance standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • CAD Modeling: Use CATIA V5 and/or Siemens NX for 3D modeling, assembly design, and drafting. Produce detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Product Lifecycle Management: Manage product data, track design changes, and ensure documentation is current and accessible using Teamcenter, Jira, and Confluence.
  • 3D Electrical Harness, Cable, and Fluid Systems Routing: Design and route 3D electrical harnesses, flight control cables, and fluid lines within aerospace systems, ensuring accuracy and adherence to design requirements.
  • Publications/Interfaces: Implement and manage CATIA Publications and/or NX Interfaces with WAVE Link Control for complex assemblies, ensuring robust and flexible design configurations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, and project management, to integrate designs into production seamlessly.
  • Problem Solving: Analyze and resolve design issues, offering innovative solutions to engineering challenges.
  • Testing and Validation: Participate in prototype testing and validation to ensure designs perform under various conditions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to process improvements and best practices within the design and development team.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design within the aerospace, automotive, or similarly complex product development industry.
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in CATIA V5 or Siemens NX and Teamcenter is mandatory.
  • Preferred Experience:
    • 3D electrical harness, cable, and/or fluid systems routing.
    • CATIA Publications for linked reference management or NX Interfaces with WAVE Link Control.
    • FEA experience, especially within Simcenter 3D Nastran.
    • CFD experience.
    • Agile Development using Jira Sprint Methodology.
    • Drafting or MBD using GD&T principles.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of aerospace materials, manufacturing processes, and industry standards.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex technical data and provide effective solutions.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present and document technical information to various stakeholders.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous involvement in aerospace certification processes and standards (e.g., FAA, EASA).
  • Project management experience or certification.
