Job description

Company Mission - Our mission is to help secure as many companies as possible, by using the best way of doing so, penetration testing. Sprocket Security prioritizes offensive security for enterprises, empowering them to build robust defense strategies based on individual business risk.
How - At Sprocket Security, we've built an expert-driven Continuous Penetration Testing platform that blends cutting-edge automated and manual testing methods.
Your Mission - As a Business Development Representative at Sprocket Security, your mission will be to establish new business, nurture prospects, and lead the charge in driving revenue growth. You'll be launching your sales career at one of the fastest growing companies in the cybersecurity industry. This is more than a BDR role, it's a deliberate first step toward becoming a full-cycle Account Executive, with real earning potential and a clear path to get there.
You don't need a background in cybersecurity to thrive here. What you do need is drive, a strong work ethic, and the hunger to win. You'll learn the fundamentals of B2B sales, develop the rare and valuable skill of selling cybersecurity solutions, and do it all in a fast-moving environment where new opportunities are opening up quickly.
You'll be on-site four days a week, working closely with an experienced team that's invested in your growth. At Sprocket, you'll have direct access to leadership, a culture that rewards hard work, and the satisfaction of knowing the product you're selling genuinely helps protect businesses from real threats.
If you're ready to bet on yourself and build something, this is the place to do it.
Responsibilities
  • Own Your Outreach: Lead multi-channel prospecting efforts with a heavy emphasis on cold calling, supported by strategic email and LinkedIn activity. Identify and engage organizations with 250+ employees, uncovering business pain points and positioning Sprocket's solutions to meet their cybersecurity needs.
  • Qualify and Advance the Pipeline: Conduct discovery conversations with prospects to qualify opportunities using BANT methodology. Schedule and coordinate handoffs to Account Executives, and stay actively involved throughout the sales cycle to develop a deep understanding of the full sales process - with a clear path toward becoming a full-cycle AE.
  • Partner with Marketing: Work closely with the marketing team on a daily basis, contributing to event strategy, outbound messaging, and campaign direction. Serve as the voice of the prospect - bringing field insights back to marketing to sharpen positioning and improve outreach effectiveness.
  • Represent Sprocket in the Community: Attend industry events including RSA, CypherCon, BSides, and others as needed. Build relationships with prospects and peers in person, and grow your presence in the cybersecurity community as a trusted representative of Sprocket Security.
Qualifications
Minimum
  • Desire to Excel: You have an insatiable desire to learn, grow, and excel in your role.
  • Entrepreneurial Spirit: As a hunter before a farmer, you embrace an entrepreneurial mindset, always seeking new opportunities for business growth.
  • Effective Communicator: Your clear and concise verbal and written skills allow you to captivate audiences and build strong relationships.
Preferred
  • Entrepreneurial mindset - hunter before farmer
  • Experience contributing to business growth and working closely with a leadership team
  • Bachelor's Degree

Benefits:
  • Unlimited and mandatory PTO for healthy work/life balance.
  • Company matched 401k (immediate eligibility, no one should have to wait to start saving).
  • 75% company contribution for health insurance for employees and 50% for dependants.
  • 100% company contribution for dental and vision.
  • Flexible working hours.
  • Hardware and tools of your choice
  • Support for your career development with paid training, conferences, certifications, etc.
