Job description

The State Theatre is one of the the DMV's most popular for live music venues and is looking for box office staff.

Box office staff are responsible for selling tickets to customers over the phone and in person, fielding all phone calls that come to the venue, and answering customer questions. Box office staff are frequently the first interaction customers have with the venue so candidates should have a friendly and outgoing attitude and be knowledgeable of upcoming shows and venue policies.

Further responsibilities include:

-taking and managing dining reservations

-managing band guest lists

-changing the venue's three marquees (this requires the physical ability to carry 15lbs)

-coordinating with security, marketing and floor staff on the day of shows

-responding to customer inquires by phone and email

-taking and organizing reservations for venue's VIP space

-using in-house ticketing system to sell and refund tickets and provide ticket counts

In addition to having a positive attitude, applicants should have strong organizational skills, great customer service, and be available to work afternoons and some weekend nights. A love of live music is a plus.
