Weekend Archery Coach information

What is a weekend archery coach?

Weekend Archery Coaches are instructors who specialize in teaching archery skills to individuals or groups, typically during weekends. They work with archers of different ages and skill levels, providing guidance on proper technique, safety, and equipment use. These coaches often organize lessons, supervise practice sessions, and may also prepare students for competitions or recreational shooting. Their role involves fostering a safe and supportive environment while helping participants improve their archery abilities.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a weekend archery coach?

To thrive as a Weekend Archery Coach, you need a solid understanding of archery techniques, safety protocols, and ideally a coaching certification from a recognized archery organization. Familiarity with archery equipment, range management systems, and first aid certification are typically required. Strong communication, patience, and motivational skills help coaches effectively instruct and inspire students of varying skill levels. These skills and qualifications are essential for providing safe, engaging, and effective coaching sessions that foster skill development and enjoyment.

What are some common challenges a weekend archery coach faces when working with beginner groups?

Weekend Archery Coaches often work with students who are new to the sport, which means they must balance safety, skill development, and motivation within a limited timeframe. One challenge is ensuring that all participants understand and consistently follow safety protocols, especially in a group setting. Coaches also need to adapt their teaching style to accommodate different learning speeds and physical abilities. Additionally, fostering a supportive and engaging environment is essential for helping beginners build confidence and enjoy their first experiences with archery.

What is the difference between Weekend Archery Coach vs Part-Time Archery Instructor?

Both roles involve teaching archery skills, but a Weekend Archery Coach typically works with athletes or enthusiasts during weekends at sports facilities, focusing on coaching and skill development. A Part-Time Archery Instructor often teaches in educational or community settings, with a broader focus on beginner to intermediate instruction. The main difference lies in the work environment and the target audience, with the coach more involved in competitive or recreational coaching during weekends.

Can you make a career out of weekend archery coach?

A weekend archery coach can develop a career by gaining experience, obtaining relevant certifications, and building a client base. While it may start as a part-time role, some coaches transition to full-time positions or run their own coaching businesses, especially if they establish a strong reputation and expand their services. Career growth depends on skill level, networking, and the ability to attract and retain clients.

How to become a weekend archery coach?

To become a weekend archery coach, you typically need to have experience in archery, obtain relevant certifications such as those from archery associations, and develop coaching skills. Many coaches work part-time on weekends, often requiring background checks and knowledge of safety protocols in addition to archery expertise.

Looking for a job that’s as exciting as it is rewarding? At BattleGR, we bring people together through unforgettable experiences — and we’re searching for an enthusiastic Game Facilitator to help us make every event extraordinary. Whether it’s a birthday party, corporate team-building event, or a community celebration, you’ll be the person who turns good times into great memories.

About Us

Located in Comstock Park, MI, BattleGR is all about connection and fun. Our indoor venue features laser tag, axe throwing, archery tag, VR, and more. Plus, our Games on Wheels mobile division brings the party to backyards, company picnics, and community events across West Michigan. From birthday celebrations to ticketed experiences like Bourbon Night, we’re passionate about creating moments that matter.

About the Role

As a Game Facilitator, you’ll be the face of BattleGR, leading activities, running games, and ensuring every guest has an amazing time. Whether it’s explaining the rules of laser tag to a group of kids or keeping the energy up during a corporate event, you’ll play a key role in delivering the fun. This is a dynamic, hands-on role where no two days are the same — perfect for someone who thrives on variety and loves working with people.

What You’ll Do
  • Set up, run, and break down activities like laser tag, axe throwing, archery tag, VR, and more.
  • Greet guests warmly, explain rules and safety procedures, and keep games running smoothly.
  • Supervise participants to ensure a safe, inclusive, and fun environment for everyone.

  • Assist with event setup and teardown for both indoor and mobile events as needed.
  • Maintain equipment and report any issues or maintenance needs.
  • Represent BattleGR with energy, professionalism, and a genuine love of fun.
What We’re Looking For
  • Outgoing and confident personality — you’ll be leading groups of all ages.
  • Reliable and punctual — flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays is a must.
  • Physically active — you’ll be on your feet, moving equipment, and staying engaged throughout your shift.
  • Team player mindset — you take ownership, work well with others, and always do the right thing.
  • Prior experience in entertainment, hospitality, coaching, or customer service is a plus, but not required — we’ll train the right person!
  • Must be able to pass a background check.

  • Free food during your shifts — because who doesn’t love a good snack while working?
  • Friends and family discounts — share the fun with your loved ones.
  • Paid time off (PTO) — because we all need a little R&R.
  • Fun, high-energy work environment — no two days are the same.
  • Growth opportunities as we expand our venue and mobile offerings.
  • Be part of creating lasting memories for families, kids, and coworkers across West Michigan.
