What's in it for you:
Trane in Memphis, TN is hiring for a Project Developer to join our team. In this role, you will be closely interacting with customers, account manager(s), other assigned project managers,technicians andsuppliers to ensure timely completion of assigned estimates. Responsibilities includeproviding cost estimates and clearly defining project scope to meet customer expectations. You will also be supporting our turnkey contracting team throughout the project.

What you will do:

  • Engage with customers and account managers to thoroughly understand customer needs and define project scope.
  • Responsible for the cost estimates consisting of materials, sub-contractors, purchased equipment, labor, and other construction-related activities created by personnel to assist Account Managers in bidding on or determining price of project.
  • Work closely with Trane equipment sales team to ensure product selections meet all customer needs and design specifications.
  • Creates detailed cost estimates including system sketches, scope definition, exceptions/exclusions, preliminary proposal, vendor/sub-contractor quotes, and materials lists.
  • Data entry into Trane's designated estimating tool as applicable to generate estimates.
  • Responsible for the take-off and pricing of purchased equipment and materials to ensure accuracy of quantity, size, configuration, voltage, options, etc.
  • Review bid documents, existing conditions, and subcontractor proposals for potential conflicts and constructability issues.
  • Responsible for identifying possible cost saving opportunities and/or risk items that will occur on various projects. Optimizes job costs by negotiating prices with vendors/sub-contractors through quotations for materials and services.
  • Review project financials with project leadership team to ensure estimates are performing as anticipated.
  • Participate in project handoff meetings to facilitate a smooth and seamless transition into project execution.
  • Support project fulfillment team by answering questions and offering guidance based upon your defined scope and construction knowledge.
  • Conduct LOA meetings as appropriate based on the magnitude of the work.

What you will bring:

  • 8 + years of commercial HVAC/mechanical construction experience.
  • Experience with cost estimating and construction processes
  • Working knowledge of HVAC applications and applied systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience utilizing Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc...)
  • Flexibility to work outside normal work hours/weekends, as required, including some travel with occasional overnight stays.

Annual Base Salary Range or Hourly Base Pay Range:

$77,963.33 - $109,340.00
