Overview
Horton, Inc., has an opening for a Truck Application Engineer (On-Highway Group) to work at our Corporate Headquarters in Roseville, MN. This is an onsite position Monday-Friday with 20-30% travel expectations.
Position Summary:
The Truck Application Engineer position is a professional engineering position with responsibilities in the areas of product development, field technical assistance, sales and manufacturing support. The Truck Application Engineer is responsible for working with customers, suppliers, and internally to customize Horton products to meet customer's technical needs. This will include supporting designs through all stages of development and production including helping with the technical needs of sales, manufacturing, quality, and purchasing. Manages the release of products to meet the needs of customers in a timely manner, while ensuring products meet customer requirements.

Responsibilities
Truck Application Engineer Responsibilities:
  • Designs new products
  • Supports the on-going improvement of existing product designs and processes
  • Provides design related support to the sales and management functions
  • Attends sales and marketing planning meetings
  • Travels to customer locations with sales
  • Attends trade shows
  • Participates in the process of screening suppliers
  • Provide technical customer service in the field
  • Provide on-site assistance to customers, including dealers, OEM's, distributors or fleet customers
  • Coordinates product field tests

Qualifications
Truck Application Engineer Required Qualifications:
  • Position requires a 4 year bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited institution
  • Minimum of 1 year experience
  • Minimum of 5 years experience is preferred
  • Up to 30% travel
  • Must be able to show legal authorization to work in the United States. No Visa sponsorship provided.

Additional Information:
The estimated hiring range for this position is $80,000 - $125,000 per year plus bonus (Pay increases based on years of experience, with the top part of the range appropriate for candidates with significant years of experience).
