Overview:

We are seeking an Attorney specializing in examination of title to real property to join our dynamic Energy Department. We will consider candidates interested in working in Bismarck, Fargo, Des Moines, Madison, or Minneapolis offices, as well as candidates seeking a remote work arrangement; candidates who would be based in one of our office locations are preferred. In this role you will work on a diverse range of oil and gas and renewable energy projects, with a focus on oil and gas title examination. You will be responsible for examining title records, determining ownership to surface, mineral, and leasehold interests in numerous tracts of land, researching and analyzing unique title issues, and drafting complex title opinions. Our firm's practice represents a broad spectrum of clients, including oil and gas operators, renewable energy developers, independent power producers, independent transmission companies, traditional utilities, and more. Candidates with oil and gas and/or real estate experience are encouraged to apply; specific experience with oil and gas title examination is a plus. While our ideal candidate would have 3-8 years of experience and a creditable/billable hours expectation between 1,600 - 1,775 hours, we are open to considering candidates with more experience and/or lower hours expectations.

Our Ideal Candidates Will Have:
* 3-8+ years of experience of related legal experience
* Background in one or more of the following areas: title examination; oil and gas transactions, particularly involving lease, easement, or purchase agreement drafting, and title and survey review; real estate transactions, particularly involving lease, easement or purchase agreement drafting, and title and survey review
* Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and writing skills
* Strong academic background
* J.D. from an ABA-Accredited Law School
* Licensed to practice in Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, or Wisconsin (depending upon location) and ability to obtain a license to practice in North Dakota
