Job Title: Injection Molding Technician
Job Description

The Injection Molding Technician is responsible for all aspects of the injection molding process, including machine start-up, shutdown, troubleshooting, and equipment adjustments to ensure efficient and consistent production. This role supports production by ensuring molded components meet quality standards, maintaining documentation for traceability, and performing routine maintenance. The technician also handles small-scale issues such as cleaning tools, monitoring auxiliary equipment, and ensuring machines run continuously.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, tear down, and troubleshoot injection molding machines and related equipment.
  • Make necessary machine and process adjustments to maintain efficient production.
  • Work closely with production personnel to ensure molded components meet specifications.
  • Provide molded components in a timely manner to support production schedules.
  • Generate and maintain documentation for molding runs to ensure traceability.
  • Establish procedures to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Perform routine maintenance on molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
  • Complete required paperwork, including routing/setup sheets and time sheets.
  • Collaborate with Production Manager, area leaders, programmers, and engineers to resolve molding or assembly issues.
  • Input and retrieve correct program codes from machines and network systems.
  • Support continuous machine operation by addressing small issues such as tool cleaning and auxiliary equipment checks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
  • 2โ€“3 years of experience in injection molding or extrusion molding.
  • Strong understanding of injection molding machine operation.
  • Experience with process control documentation.
  • Ability to record and maintain machine setting parameters.
  • Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills (MS Office, email, etc.).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Work Environment

The Injection Molding Technician works in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with continuous machine operation and frequent interaction with molding equipment, tools, and auxiliary systems. The role requires maintaining a clean, organized workspace and following all safety procedures while supporting production uptime. Technicians are frequently exposed to noise and moving machinery, heat from molding equipment, plastic materials, lubricants, and cleaning agents. The work schedule includes Thursday 1 PM to 7 PM, Friday to Sunday 7 AM to 7 PM, and Monday to Wednesday 7 PM to 7 AM, with Thursday 7 PM to 1 AM. Temporary shift coverage may be required, and flexibility with hours is appreciated. Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and frequently move, transport, and position equipment.
