Behavior Technician (BT/RBT) - Center-Based (Part-Time) 

Part-Time | Weekday Availability | Oxnard, CA | Hours: 10:20 AM - 1:30 PM | Pay $23.00/hour-$28.00/hour

Our Approach at CAS 

At Community Autism Services (CAS), we believe every role matters - especially the team members who help keep centers running smoothly. Our part-time center-based Behavior Technicians play a critical role in supporting children, covering breaks, and stepping in where support is needed most. 

We practice within an assent-based, child-centered ABA model and ensure part-time team members receive the same training, supervision, and respect as full-time staff.

Role Overview 

As a Part-Time Center-Based Behavior Technician, you'll support children and clinical teams throughout the day by stepping into sessions as needed and, in some cases, carrying a consistent part-time caseload. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy variety, teamwork, and flexible schedules while making a meaningful impact. 

What You'll Do 

  • Provide 1:1 ABA therapy under BCBA supervision 
  • Step in to support sessions during staff breaks or absences 
  • Implement treatment plans using play-based, individualized strategies 
  • Collect accurate session data and progress notes 
  • Collaborate with supervisors and teammates to ensure continuity of care 
  • Help maintain safe, organized, and engaging therapy spaces 
  • Adapt quickly to different children, programs, and routines 

How Success Is Measured 

Success in this role is defined by: 

  • Reliability and flexibility in supporting the center 
  • Consistent, compassionate engagement with children 
  • Accurate data collection and follow-through 
  • Strong teamwork and communication 
  • Openness to feedback and learning 

Additional factors that may increase starting pay include: 

  • Prior experience working in ABA or related behavioral health settings 
  • Higher levels of education or relevant coursework 
  • Fluency in additional languages that support the families we serve 
  • Advanced certifications or specialized training (e.g., RBT certification)

Qualifications & Essential Job Functions 

  • Minimum age of 18 
  • High School diploma or GED required 
  • Ability to actively engage in child-centered play and therapeutic activities 
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including: 
  • Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs 
  • Bending, kneeling, squatting, and transitioning between activities and locations 
  • Responding appropriately to challenging behaviors, which may include aggression or elopement 
  • Reliable transportation and punctual attendance 
  • Willingness to support coverage across different rooms or children within the center 
  • No prior ABA experience required - we train you 

Experience That Transfers Well 

  • Childcare or education (nanny, preschool teacher, tutor, paraprofessional) 
  • College students in psychology, education, social work, or related fields 
  • Mental health or human services roles 
  • Camp counselor, volunteer, or youth program experience
