Job description

Job Details
The Psychologist functions as an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team and provides psychological services to patients and their families for JMMR locations. Provides education to family members and team regarding psychological status of patients, suggests intervention strategies due to psychological deficits, and actively participates in discharge planning. Patients with strokes make up the primary population. Other specialty programs that the candidate could be involved with include these: SCI, Brain
Injury, Amputee and Medical Rehabilitation. This position requires providing service to the following age population(s): adolescent, young, old and older adults and frail elderly in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served
Job Description
Essential Functions:
• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
• Evaluating patients' needs, abilities and/or behavior using a variety of methods, including evidence-based pre-screening and assessment tools, clinical interviews and direct observation and documenting in electronic medical record.
• Provides evidence-based psychological treatments to address adjustment to health changes/chronic illness/injury, mood and anxiety management, pain, and coping with prolonged hospitalization or treatments, as well as to facilitate changes in health behaviors. /
• Working as part of a multidisciplinary team to develop and monitor appropriate treatment plans
• Treating individuals and families on issues including anxiety, depression, addiction, social, and interpersonal disorders, adjustment to disability.
• Guides team interventions from a psychological and behavioral perspective. • Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team and other health and medical professionals in the care of patients.
• Provides education to patients, family members, and a multidisciplinary treatment team regarding the psychological status of the patient.
• Provides individual/family counseling and/or education for persons on the comprehensive rehab unit and their families.
• Provides education to staff and others via co-treatments, chart rounds, in servicing, etc.
• Communicates impressions and objective information in a clear and timely manner to pertinent stakeholders to ensure efficient coordination and optimal outcomes
• Assists the patient, family, and team in discharge planning and follow-up services including mental health referrals for patients and families. • Provides team leadership for continuity of discharge plans.
• Timely documentation of treatment notes.
• Facilitates group psychological interventions and/or support groups.
• Complies with all policies related to Emergency Procedures as defined in the Environment of Care plans. Knows personal role in event of a disaster or emergency.
• Complies with hospital and Network policies regarding confidentiality
• Pursues continuing education
Education:
Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA-Accredited program required with a concentration in rehabilitation or health psychology preferred.
AND
Experience: Three or more years of clinical experience. Clinical experience with behavioral techniques required. Experience with family therapy desired. job. Minimum Certifications, Registration or License Requirements: Licenses psychologist in Pennsylvania (required)
