Job description

St. Anne Catholic Church in Bristol, Virginia, seeks a Director of Music and Coordinator of Liturgy to lead the sacred music of a parish and school community in the mountains of Southwest Virginia. Serving on the senior staff and working in close collaboration with the pastor, the director plans and carries out a comprehensive music program rooted in the Church's tradition of sacred music: directing the parish choir at Sunday Mass, forming cantors and instrumentalists, leading the student choir at the weekly school Mass, preparing music for weddings and funerals, and helping to shape the great liturgies of the year from Christmas through the Sacred Paschal Triduum.

The position is full-time (35 hours per week) with diocesan salary and benefits, and it suits a musician who loves the liturgy, works generously with volunteers of every age, and wants a life's craft placed at the service of the worship of God.
