Job description

Residential Remodeling Project ManagerCompany Description

HyggeHus is an award-winning residential design-build remodeling company based in St. Paul, MN. We create thoughtful, well-built homes through kitchens, bathrooms, additions, multi-room remodels, and whole-home renovations.

We are a small, close-knit company entering our next stage of growth. This is not a corporate PM role. The right person will have a real voice in how projects are estimated, organized, communicated, and improved as we build stronger systems for the next stage of the company.

Our work is rooted in craftsmanship, communication, realistic planning, and client trust. From craftsmanship to communication, quality is our guarantee.

Role Description

HyggeHus is hiring a full-time Residential Remodeling Project Manager to help carry projects from estimating through job completion.

This role is ideal for someone who understands real residential remodeling: occupied homes, existing conditions, trade coordination, inspections, client communication, material lead times, schedule pressure, and clean handoffs.

The Project Manager will help build accurate project estimates, coordinate project schedules, manage subcontractors and vendors, track materials and selections, communicate with clients, document project details, and keep jobs moving from pre-construction through completion.

Buildertrend experience is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities
  • Help build and maintain project estimates using scopes, drawings, selections, vendor input, and field knowledge.
  • Help identify missing scope, unclear assumptions, schedule risks, and budget concerns before construction begins.
  • Manage residential remodeling projects from estimating and pre-construction handoff through completion.
  • Build and maintain project schedules in Buildertrend.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, inspections, materials, deliveries, and jobsite logistics.
  • Keep clients informed with clear and professional updates.
  • Track project communication, documentation, changes, and decisions in Buildertrend.
  • Review drawings, scopes of work, selections, and specifications before and during construction.
  • Identify schedule issues, material delays, trade conflicts, and field concerns early.
  • Help protect project quality, client trust, schedule, budget awareness, and team capacity.
  • Support continued improvement of HyggeHus systems, handoffs, checklists, and project processes.
Qualifications
  • Experience in residential remodeling, residential construction, custom homes, or design-build construction.
  • Experience estimating, managing, coordinating, or leading residential construction projects.
  • Project management, estimating, production management, site supervision, lead carpenter, or construction coordination experience.
  • Buildertrend experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read drawings, scopes of work, selections, and specifications.
  • Strong understanding of remodeling sequencing, trade coordination, jobsite logistics, and existing-condition challenges.
  • Clear communication with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal team members.
  • Strong organization, follow-through, problem-solving, and judgment.
  • Comfort using construction management software, email, calendars, and basic office tools.
  • Valid driverโ€™s license and ability to travel to project sites in St. Paul and the surrounding Twin Cities area.
Compensation

$65,000 to $80,000 per year, based on experience and fit for the role.

Strong Fit

This may be a strong fit if you are currently a residential remodeling Project Manager, Production Manager, Construction Manager, Lead Carpenter, Site Supervisor, Estimator, or field-experienced construction professional ready to step into stronger project leadership.

How to Apply

Please apply with your resume and a short note describing the types of residential remodeling or construction projects you have estimated, managed, coordinated, or led. Please include any Buildertrend or construction management software experience.

Candidates may apply through LinkedIn or directly on our website at www.hyggehus.co.
