What is a website creator?

Website creators are professionals or tools that design, build, and launch websites for individuals or organizations. They use programming languages, design platforms, and content management systems to create functional and visually appealing sites tailored to specific needs. Website creators can work independently, as part of an agency, or through website-building software. Their responsibilities often include planning site structure, coding, graphic design, and ensuring the site is user-friendly and optimized for search engines.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a website creator, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Website Creator, you need proficiency in web design principles, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and often experience with content management systems (CMS) like WordPress or Wix. Familiarity with design software such as Adobe Creative Suite and tools for responsive design, as well as optional certifications like Google Web Designer or related coding bootcamps, are typically used. Creativity, attention to detail, and strong communication skills help website creators understand client needs and deliver visually appealing, user-friendly sites. These skills ensure websites are functional, engaging, and meet both user and business objectives.

What are some common challenges faced by website creators when collaborating with clients and other team members?

Website creators often encounter challenges related to communication and aligning expectations among clients, designers, and developers. Balancing client vision with technical feasibility requires clear, ongoing dialogue and sometimes negotiation. Additionally, coordinating tasks between content creators, UX/UI designers, and back-end developers can be complex, especially in remote or cross-functional teams. Successful website creators are proactive in clarifying project requirements, maintaining documentation, and using collaborative tools to keep everyone on the same page.

Job description

At Audible, we believe stories have the power to transform lives. It's why we work with some of the world's leading creators to produce and share audio storytelling with our millions of global listeners. We are dreamers and inventors who come from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences to empower and inspire each other. Imagine your future with us.
ABOUT THIS ROLE
We are looking for a Creator Marketing Manager to help grow and accelerate Audible's creator ecosystem and product offerings globally. This role has an outbound focus - you'll be a storyteller, working across all external-facing channels (website, blog, paid media, SEO, email, influencer marketing, and events) to bring products together into cohesive messaging for Audible's audiences, particularly authors and narrators. You'll get exposure to both B2B and B2C audiences - working with end consumers who listen to audiobooks and the creators who produce that content.
You'll run integrated, multi-channel campaigns where all your marketing channels work together with consistent messaging and coordinated timing. You'll also build and manage the content strategies and editorial calendars that guide execution across these channels.
You'll have the opportunity to shape the future of Audible's creator products by translating the needs of authors, publishers, narrators, and other creative stakeholders into customer-centric strategies that inform technology, content partnerships, and marketing investment. Your work will surprise and delight the creators who bring content to our catalog across the globe. You'll contribute to defining our go-to-market strategy with an eye on expanding Audible's value proposition for creators, growing our content supply, and deepening relationships with the creative community that powers our catalog.
ABOUT YOU
You're a hands-on marketer who can flex between strategy and execution. You've run integrated campaigns across multiple channels and know how to coordinate messaging, timing, and content so everything works together - not in silos. You're comfortable building editorial calendars, writing briefs, managing paid media, and partnering with cross-functional teams to bring a product story to life.
You're a generalist and an athlete - someone who wears multiple hats and thrives in a fast-moving environment. You have a passion for data-driven results, a spirit that anything is possible, and an unapologetic focus on the customer. You thrive in a highly collaborative environment where people are driven, enthusiastic, and not afraid to take risks. Your mission (and ours) is unique: fill hearts, minds, and souls with premium audio content that entertains, informs, and enriches.
As a Creator Marketing Manager, you will...
- Define and deeply understand Audible's target audiences - both consumers and creators - and champion their needs throughout the organization
- Craft compelling product stories and messaging for existing and prospective customers by creating clear and consistent propositions articulated through effective messaging
- Run integrated, multi-channel campaigns with ownership across paid media, editorial content, email, social, SEO, and other touchpoints - ensuring consistent messaging and coordinated timing
- Build and manage content strategies and editorial calendars that guide multi-channel execution across website, blog, paid media, SEO, and other marketing touchpoints
- Partner with Product teams to understand the product story and translate it for external audiences - developing positioning and messaging that drives awareness, demand, and adoption
- Drive business case development, bringing together customer insights, research, financial data, and analytics to develop a perspective on revenue and profitability potential for new-to-market initiatives
- Partner with Finance, Analytics, and Data Science to define, measure, and report on success and opportunity areas
- Communicate marketing plans and campaign performance to stakeholders and leadership
ABOUT AUDIBLE
Audible is the leading producer and provider of audio storytelling. We spark listeners' imaginations, offering immersive, cinematic experiences full of inspiration and insight to enrich our customers daily lives. We are a global company with an entrepreneurial spirit. We are dreamers and inventors who are passionate about the positive impact Audible can make for our customers and our neighbors. This spirit courses throughout Audible, supporting a culture of creativity and inclusion built on our People Principles and our mission to build more equitable communities in the cities we call home.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
- Experience building, executing and scaling marketing campaigns from concept to completion
- 5+ years of experience in product marketing and business strategy
- Experience in growth marketing, brand marketing, or audience marketing
- Experience in integrated marketing - building and managing content strategies, editorial calendars, and coordinating messaging across multiple channels (website, blog, paid media, SEO, email)
- Experience defining and driving new customer-centric products and features toward market launch rollout
- Experience in always-on/evergreen marketing programs such as lifecycle, retention, or sustained product marketing
- Bachelors Degree
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- B2B marketing experience
- Experience working with sales teams on enablement or small business marketing
- Experience in membership-based or subscription business models
- Experience in digital content, media, or audio companies
