Job description


HilltopSecurities is looking to hire a Business Development Content Manager. The Business Development Content Manager is responsible for partnering with Business Lines to understand their objectives and develop creative content related to financial services, products and solutions in support of those objectives. The primary day-to-day function for this role is focused on writing/drafting messaging and updating content for business line products and services. This role will work closely with the corporate Marketing and Communications department to ensure that marketing plans and related deliverables meet stated business objectives and align with the company's overall strategic goals and brand messaging. This role will have a matrix reporting relationship with the Chief Administrative Officer of Hilltop Securities and the Director of Marketing with Hilltop Holdings.
Responsibilities
Copy/Content
  • Work with HTS Business Lines to develop/outline copy - focusing specifically on website(s), external emails, and collateral
  • Work with HTS Business Lines to develop and maintain a repository of key data points with sources that will be used in websites, external emails, and collateral. Datapoints may include competitive rankings, client testimonials, balances, count of transactions, clients, ...etc.
  • Translate key data points into compelling messaging that supports and conveys our business case.
  • Provide copy/content to the shared services marketing team.

Approvals Management
  • Obtain and document initial project and budgetary approvals from business line executive
  • Obtain and document final approvals from business line execs and compliance on all work product in accordance with FINRA/SEC requirements
  • Provide monthly status reports to ensure all approvals are current and properly documented

Objectives and Deliverables Defined and Articulated
  • Schedule and host kick-off meetings with key stakeholders (business line leaders, shared services marketing and HTS business development support) to ensure alignment on objectives and deliverables.
  • Ensure all requests are properly documented in WRIKE
  • Ensure project status within WRIKE is current and stakeholders are properly tagged.
  • Monitor workflows and deadlines to ensure on-time completion; escalate bottlenecks
  • Maintain repository of key data points about HTS and review/refresh quarterly to ensure latest content is available to be referenced and used in communications.

Marketing Materials - Branding Standards and Centralization
  • Understand defined branding standards and ensure deliverables meet them
  • Bi-annually, coordinate with support staff to aggregate and review all existing marketing materials ensuring client-facing materials are properly branded, compliance approved, and properly stored on Hoofprinting.com

Internal Communications
  • Create and maintain an internal communication grid and editorial calendar to ensure key communications are created and disseminated appropriately.
  • Ensure consistency in messaging and banner usage.
  • Manage internal/external distribution lists; execution of loading and sending communications in accordance with calendar.
  • Author internal communications for firm announcements, executive briefings (to include talking points), and PowerPoint decks for firm-wide presentations and events.

Website
  • Work with Business Lines to ensure website content (copy/messaging) is current.
  • Oversee monthly website approvals to ensure all business lines have reviewed and confirmed that all website content is accurate.
  • Properly document monthly approvals ensuring internal audit requirements are met.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, English, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing, brand management, or a related role, highly preferred with an investment bank or financial institution
  • Strong copywriting experience across B2B and B2C environments, with a strong emphasis on developing compelling messaging for complex products and services
  • Completion of SIE preferred
  • Strong understanding of financial products and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills
  • Proven track record of developing and combining content from multiple subject matter experts into single cohesive message that meets needs of stakeholders
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines
  • Creative mindset with the ability to think strategically and innovatively
