Job Description:
Summary
The Senior Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects, including highways, bridges, tunnels, and other infrastructure works. This role requires a deep understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and industry standards.
Regular Job Duties
  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and constraints.
  • Conduct site visits and assessments to gather necessary information for accurate estimating.
  • Develop and maintain a database of historical cost data and unit prices.
  • Prepare and present cost estimates, budgets, and bid proposals to clients and management.
  • Identify potential risks and opportunities in project estimates and provide recommendations for mitigation.
  • Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.
  • Monitor and track project costs throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to budget.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and advancements in construction technology

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in estimating for heavy civil construction projects.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and tools (e.g., HCSS, Bluebeam, PlanSwift).
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in estimating.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
