Principal Mini Programs Architect

The Principal Mini Programs Architect will lead the design, architecture, and delivery of the OleOle Mini Programs platform, creating the foundation for a global ecosystem of third-party applications within the world's largest football SuperApp. This individual will define the platform architecture, developer experience, APIs, SDKs, security model, and operational framework that allows external developers and enterprise partners to build and distribute Mini Programs across hundreds of millions of football fans worldwide.

Working closely with the CTO, product leadership, and engineering teams, the Principal Mini Programs Architect will own the technical vision for a platform supporting digital commerce, gaming, ticketing, hospitality, news, merchandise, AI services, fan engagement, financial services, and future Web3 applications. The role requires balancing startup execution speed with enterprise-grade architecture capable of supporting massive global scale.

Responsibilities include defining the Mini Program runtime, lifecycle management, sandboxing and security architecture, developer onboarding, API gateway strategy, SDK architecture, payment integration, identity and authentication, moderation framework, analytics, versioning, deployment pipelines, and long-term platform scalability. The architect will also mentor engineering teams, establish technical standards, review architecture across multiple services, and collaborate with product teams to continuously expand platform capabilities.

Job Description

We are seeking a Principal Mini Programs Platform Architect who has designed and built large-scale developer platforms, application ecosystems, or extensibility frameworks. This is a platform architecture role-not a traditional frontend, mobile application, or website development position.

The successful candidate will help define the long-term architecture behind the OleOle Mini Programs ecosystem, enabling third-party developers, football clubs, brands, media companies, sportsbooks, ticketing providers, hospitality companies, merchandise partners, and gaming companies to build lightweight applications that run natively inside the OleOle platform.

The ideal candidate has experience building developer platforms where third-party applications inherit core platform capabilities such as authentication, identity, messaging, notifications, payments, localization, analytics, and security, allowing developers to focus on business functionality rather than infrastructure.

Candidates should have significant experience with several of the following:

  • Designing developer platforms, application ecosystems, or extensibility frameworks.
  • Building SDKs, APIs, developer tooling, and documentation for external developers.
  • Architecting secure application runtimes, sandboxing, permissions, and application lifecycle management.
  • Designing large-scale distributed systems capable of supporting millions of users and thousands of third-party applications.
  • Building real-time communication systems, messaging infrastructure, event-driven architectures, and notification platforms.
  • Developing high-performance backend services using Rust, or possessing extensive experience in another systems language with the ability to quickly become productive in Rust.
  • Designing scalable API platforms, microservices, service discovery, authentication, authorization, and API gateways.
  • Building payment, wallet, commerce, or financial platform infrastructure.
  • Creating template-driven platforms, low-code/no-code systems, or AI-assisted application generation frameworks.
  • Designing international platforms supporting localization, multilingual content, and automated translation.
  • Working within consumer-facing products where reliability, scalability, performance, and low latency are critical.

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
    • 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including at least 5 years in senior, lead, principal, or architect-level roles.
    • Proven experience designing and delivering large-scale platform architectures, developer ecosystems, or extensible application platforms.
    • Strong expertise in distributed systems, microservices, cloud-native architecture, and high-availability infrastructure.
    • Extensive experience designing RESTful APIs, RPC frameworks, SDKs, and developer-facing tools.
    • Strong understanding of authentication, authorization, identity management, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, API security, and permissions models.
    • Experience with event-driven architectures, asynchronous messaging, distributed caching, and high-throughput communication systems.
    • Proficiency in Rust is strongly preferred. Candidates with exceptional experience in Go, Java, C++, or similar systems languages and a demonstrated ability to adopt Rust will also be considered.
    • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, observability, monitoring, and DevOps best practices.
    • Experience building secure platforms supporting third-party developers, including application lifecycle management, versioning, sandboxing, and governance.
    • Familiarity with payment platforms, digital wallets, financial infrastructure, or commerce platforms is highly desirable.
    • Experience designing systems for international markets, including localization, multilingual applications, and large-scale consumer products.
    • Excellent system design, architectural documentation, technical leadership, and communication skills.
    • Proven ability to mentor engineers, conduct architecture reviews, establish engineering standards, and drive technical strategy across multiple teams.
    • Startup experience or experience building products from concept through commercial launch is strongly preferred.
