Job description

Hanson, an integrated marketing agency focused on technology-enabled solutions, is seeking a Project Manager to lead complex, dependency-driven web development projects in close partnership with engineering teams.
This role partners closely with developers, creatives and strategists to deliver high-quality digital experiences. The ideal candidate is confident in building adaptive project plans, aligning teams and clients, and leveraging modern tools (including AI) to drive efficient, high-impact execution to deliver work on time, on budget and within scope.
If you have experience leading web development projects and are a curious, organized problem-solver who embraces new technologies and continuously evolving ways of working, we'd love to talk.
This position reports to our Director of Project Management.
Responsibilities & Expectations
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of technical project plans, ensuring work is on time, on budget, within scope, and aligned with strategic and performance objectives
  • Serve as the primary point of accountability for project health, proactively identifying risks, removing obstacles and driving solutions
  • Manage dependencies across front-end, back-end and systems integrations
  • Sequence work across development environments (dev, staging, prod)
  • Facilitate clear, consistent communication across internal teams and clients, translating business needs into actionable plans, priorities and workflows
  • Own project planning and resourcing; maintaining accurate timelines, budgets and project data
  • Use AI tools to support estimation, documentation and risk tracking in technical workflows
  • Drive alignment and momentum by leading meetings, setting expectations and ensuring next steps are clearly defined and executed
  • Identify risks and blockers early, provide mitigation strategies, and escalate issues with appropriate context and urgency
  • Partner with Account Management and Operations to manage scope changes, validate impacts and communicate updates to teams and clients
  • Uphold and reinforce Hanson's processes and methods, including documentation standards, process consistency and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Contribute to a strong client experience by anticipating needs, managing expectations and addressing challenges with urgency and transparency
  • Help shape and refine agency processes, supporting adoption and maintaining clear, up-to-date documentation
  • Willingness to travel for client meetings, industry events and partner engagements as needed

Experience and Qualifications
  • 3-5+ years of experience in project management at an agency, consulting or similarly fast-paced, client-facing environment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, cross-functional digital projects with multiple stakeholders and evolving requirements
  • Strong understanding of how to manage web-specific components and artifacts such as API integrations, CMS implementations, technical requirements documentation, acceptance criteria, etc.
  • Experience with digital, marketing or technology-driven projects (e.g., websites, CMS, CRM, eCommerce platforms such as Sitefinity, Optimizely, Contentful, Webflow, or WordPress)
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to lead discussions, influence decisions and "say what matters" clearly and constructively
  • Proven track record of problem-solving, adaptability and sound judgment in ambiguous or rapidly changing situations
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail, while maintaining a clear view of overall project goals and business impact
  • Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, ClickUp, or similar)
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines and adapt to different working styles and personalities
  • Ability to calmly prioritize and manage multiple concurrent tasks/projects with flexibility, keeping others continuously updated on plans and progress
  • We value skills and qualities above all else, but a degree or certifications (PMP, CAPM, scrum) are a plus

What we offer
  • Hybrid work environment (primarily remote with in-office collaboration on Tuesdays; candidates must live within ~50 miles of Toledo, OH and be able to attend occasional team/client meetings)
  • Competitive salary
  • Medical, dental and vision coverage
  • Group life insurance
  • Short-term and long-term disability insurance
  • 401(k) + Employer Match
  • Paid holidays, including paid time off between Christmas Eve and New Year's Day
  • Paid birthday day off
  • Flexible spending account (FSA) and Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA)

We are currently working in a hybrid work-from-home and in-office model, so you'll be collaborating with Hanson teams in person and/or via Microsoft Teams, Slack and email.
