Sr. Web Developer

CentralReach

Job description

For many therapy providers, payors, and families, theย CentralReachย website is their first real interaction with our brand - often before they ever speak with our team. We are looking for a Senior Web Developer to own the technical health and ongoing development of theย CentralReachย website and our broader web presence, including associated subdomains and web properties, ensuring that experience is fast, reliable, and reflective of the brand. This role owns hands-on WordPress development today, with the versatility to support future platform evolution as the business's needs change, and the front-end and back-end skills to build custom functionality beyond what WordPress offers out of the box. The ideal candidate is a strong problem-solverย who'sย comfortable owning a production site end-to-end: theme and plugin development, performance, security, and integrations with other marketing and product systems.ย

This role reports directly to the Creative Director and will work closely with them day-to-day, alongside Marketing, Design, and Demand Generation.ย

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESย

Website Development & Maintenanceย

  • Own the day-to-day development, maintenance, and performance of theย CentralReachย WordPress site and its associated subdomains and web properties - custom theme and plugin development, updates, security, and uptimeย
  • Build andย maintainย pages and layouts using Beaver Builder, our primary WordPress page-building tool, alongside custom-codedย themeย and plugin workย
  • Build andย maintainย custom functionality using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript where WordPress's native tools and page builders fall shortย
  • Develop andย maintainย server-side logic, APIs, and integrations using Node.js to connect the website with internal tools, CRM, and marketing systemsย
  • Monitor site speed, SEO health, and technical performance; proactivelyย identifyย and resolve issues before they affect usersย

Platform Strategy & Future-Readinessย

  • Serve as the team's technical point of contact for evaluating and eventually supporting a transition to a new CMS or platform, should the business move in that directionย
  • Stay current on modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React) and recommend where they can improve site performance, maintainability, or user experienceย
  • Document site architecture, custom code, and technical decisions so the platformย remainsย maintainable as the team and stack evolveย

Collaboration & Executionย

  • Partner with Marketing, Design, and Demand Generation to implement landing pages, campaign builds, A/B tests, and conversion optimization workย
  • Translate design files (Figma, Adobe XD, etc.) into responsive, accessible, pixel-accurate front-end codeย
  • Troubleshoot cross-browser and cross-device issues, and ensure the site meets accessibility and web performance best practicesย

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEย

Backgroundย

  • 5-7 years of professional web development experience, including significant hands-on WordPress development (custom themes, plugins, ACF, hooks/filters)ย
  • Track recordย of independently owning a production website - able to take a project from requirements to deployment with minimal oversightย
  • Experience working in a marketing or B2B SaaS environment, collaborating with design and marketing stakeholders, is a plusย

Technicalย

  • Strong, currentย proficiencyย in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (required)ย
  • Hands-on experience with Node.js for back-end logic, APIs, or build tooling (required)ย
  • Deep,ย demonstratedย WordPressย expertise, including custom theme/plugin development and PHP (required)ย
  • Familiarity with other CMS platforms (e.g.,ย Webflow, Sanity,ย Contentful, or other headless/traditional CMS systems) is a plusย
  • Strongย proficiencyย with React or similar modern front-end frameworks (plus)ย
  • Understanding of web performance, on-page SEO fundamentals, and accessibility (WCAG) best practicesย
  • Strong experience with version control (Git) and modern development workflows, including CI/CD pipelines and code review practicesย

Working Styleย

  • Self-directed and comfortable owning a system end-to-end, with strong judgment about when to flag risk vs. move forward independentlyย
  • Clear communicator who can explain technical tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholdersย
  • Adaptable - genuinely excited about evolving tooling and platforms over time rather than being tied to one CMSย

GROWTH IN THIS ROLEย

Asย CentralReach'sย digital footprint grows, there's room for this role to grow with it - from owning the website today to helping shape broader web andย websiteย strategy, including any future evaluation of new tools or systems.ย You'llย have a direct line to the Creative Director to help influence that direction as the team and site evolve.
