About the Opportunity

Aviva is pleased to announce that we are recruiting two Quality Engineering Interns for Fall 2026, in an 8-month internship from September 2026 to May 2027.

This is an excellent opportunity for post-secondary students to gain exposure to the insurance industry while developing valuable technical and professional skills within our Quality Engineering team. Aviva recognizes the importance of internship programs in developing future talent and creating pathways into entry-level career opportunities.

What You'll Do

As a Quality Engineering Intern, you will have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects while developing your technical and professional skills. Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining software applications and automated test frameworks.

  • Collaborating with Quality Engineers and Software Developers, including participating in code reviews.

  • Troubleshooting and debugging software issues.

  • Building and enhancing automation solutions for web, API, and data testing.

  • Assisting with requirements gathering and solution design activities.

  • Contributing to test documentation and participating in defect triage meetings.

What You'll Bring

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

  • Foundational knowledge of Java and/or Python.

  • Familiarity with automation testing tools such as Selenium or Playwright; experience using JIRA is considered an asset.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • A collaborative mindset, eagerness to learn, and strong attention to detail.
