Job Summary:
AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking a Web/UI Developer to support the Air and Marine Operations Center (AMOC) by designing and developing web-based user interfaces for mission-critical systems. The role involves collaborating with various technical teams to enhance user interfaces and ensure compliance with security and accessibility requirements.
Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain Web-based user interfaces for AMOC C4I systems, including WebAMOSS
• Develop responsive and intuitive UI components for:
• Real-time surveillance displays
• Data visualization and mapping interfaces
• Data mining and analytics tools
• Enhance user interfaces using OpenLayers, JavaScript, Apache, and related web technologies
• Integrate web interfaces with backend C4I services and data sources, including radar, flight plan, and sensor data
• Support modernization efforts to achieve feature parity between WebAMOSS and the full AMOSS client
• Collaborate with Systems Engineers, Database Administrators, Data Scientists, and C4I Engineers to translate mission requirements into technical solutions
• Support configuration management and change control processes (Change Requests)
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, user manuals, and interface design artifacts
• Participate in system testing, integration, and acceptance activities in accordance with DHS and CBP security requirements
• Ensure UI designs meet DHS/CBP enterprise architecture, security, and accessibility requirements (Section 508 National Security Exception applies)
• Provide operational support during deployments, upgrades, and mission-critical events
Qualifications:
Required:
• U.S. Citizen
• Secret Clearance Required
• Bachelor's degree and 5-7 years of related work experience
• Minimum 2 years experience demonstrating effective communication with diverse technical and operational teams
• Minimum 2 years experience demonstrating ability to work in high-tempo, mission-critical environments
• Minimum 2 years experience demonstrating ability to follow detailed technical procedures and documentation
• 5+ years of experience in Web application development OR 10+ years of combined software development and UI design experience
Preferred:
• Experience supporting C4I, ISR, or mission command systems
• Experience with Linux-based environments
• Experience with Elasticsearch-based query and visualization tools
• Experience with Geospatial data and real-time data streams
• Familiarity with Agile development and configuration management processes
• Experience supporting government or DHS/DoD systems
• Ability to read and understand system architecture diagrams and data flow drawings
