Description

We are seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented person to manage, coordinate, and develop content for theKentucky Fish and Wildlife website, all while ensuring it is visually appealing, user-friendly, ADA compliantand consistently updated with accurate, up-to-date information.
The employee in this position is on the front line when it comes to external communications from Kentucky Fishand Wildlife. This position works closely with other communications staff in developing and determiningmessaging for the website. We seek an individual that is constantly looking to innovate, using analytics andother tools to determine the best methods of reaching people and encouraging them to spend time in theoutdoors hunting, fishing, boating and more.
Responsibilities and job duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Updates web pages of the Kentucky Fish and Wildlife website with accurate and timely information.
  • Assists in the development of long-term, sustainable processes for managing web pages and content while implementing improved design, layout, ADA compliance and functionality of the website.
  • Researches and keeps up-to-date on the latest technology and software utilized as a web content manager.
  • Coordinates with staff across Kentucky Fish and Wildlife, and particularly with the communications staff, to share the latest news, activities and programs across the agency.
  • Provides support in the development of agency communications, as needed.
  • Works with the IT department when needed and assists in seeking ways to innovate the website while considering a mobile-first mindset, providing suggestions and feedback regarding user analytics and user behavior.
  • Assists in the development of written material, photos and graphics.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Preferred skills may include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Proficient writing skills.
  • Experience using HTML.
  • Experience using CSS.
  • Experience using Bootstrap or another responsive framework.
  • Experience using SharePoint and, or, another Content Management System (CMS).
  • Skills in graphics development.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION:Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:Two years of systems analysis, business administration, or public administration experience.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE:A master's degree in computer science, business or public administration will substitute for one year of the experience requirement.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION:Additional experience in computer programming, systems analysis, information services, research and statistics, business administration, or public administration will substitute for the bachelor's degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.
