Job description

MKTQ327R30

Databricks is hiring an experienced web leader to grow and scale the function globally, as the company continues its hyper-growth and leadership in the Data and AI space. You will be an essential member of the marketing leadership team, drawing on all of our internal resources to bring our marketing strategy to our digital audiences — and increasingly to a new kind of audience: the AI agents and assistants that now read, interpret, and act on the web on behalf of the people we're trying to reach. You will ultimately be measured on your ability to develop a cohesive portfolio of web properties built for scale, personalization, and this next era of how people and machines discover and evaluate companies. Reporting to the VP of Marketing, you will build and oversee a product team focused on executing and iterating on marketing priorities.

The ideal candidate has held a senior digital leadership role in a high-performing marketing organization at a company experiencing rapid growth. You have operated at scale in a global environment while maintaining a solution-oriented mindset and approach. You have excellent fundamentals, strong presence, and the ability to build a strong team. Just as important, you have a point of view on where the web is going, and know how to build for AI-driven search, answer engines, and autonomous agents.

The impact you will have:
  • Transform Databricks' web properties into outstanding destinations using a modern development approach and current technologies, built to serve both human visitors and the AI agents and assistants that now consume and act on web content.
  • Put AI to work inside the function, using it to automate and accelerate web production, QA, localization, testing, and routine optimization so the team spends its time on strategy and craft rather than repetitive execution.
  • Establish a strategy for how Databricks evolves and scales its web presence with the business across segments, products, industries, partners, and languages — and for how our content stays legible, accurate, and well-represented as AI systems increasingly mediate discovery.
  • Monitor and optimize web traffic and coordinate with global teams to ensure the success of both worldwide brand awareness and demand generation efforts in every market.
  • Implement a robust testing and personalization program using all available tools to create creative, tailored digital experiences that increase conversion.
  • Ensure our web properties are structured for machine readability — clean information architecture, structured data, and content that both people and agents can parse and trust — so Databricks is accurately represented wherever our audiences are researching.
  • Leverage data on product usage and website analytics, working directly with the broader marketing team to develop strategies that improve growth.
  • Manage internal and external partners and vendors, and serve as the in-house expert for web strategy across the organization.
  • Strengthen the cross-departmental collaboration required to support and develop digital experiences for all of our audiences, through established processes and frameworks for high-velocity execution.
  • Build and lead a growing, globally distributed team, ensuring both team and personal growth.
What we look for:
  • 10+ years on a high-performing web marketing or development team.
  • 5+ years managing a team.
  • Depth in the technical aspects of running a website: analytics, UX, technical and content SEO, and information architecture.
  • A point of view on the future of the web — AI-driven search and answer engines, structured/machine-readable content, and designing for AI agents and assistants as a genuine audience, not a novelty.
  • A track record of adopting AI tools and agents to streamline web workflows.
  • Experience growing and scaling a function to meet the needs of team members, other departments, and contractors.
  • A strategic partner and agreement builder who helps other teams translate requirements into customer-centric web experiences.
  • Have led a large-scale, international website refresh or rebuild.
  • Experience with web optimization and testing frameworks, and ideally with modern composable/headless architectures.
