The Technical SEO Manager plays a critical role within Dignity Memorial's Digital Marketing team, focusing on maintaining and improving the technical health of our websites. Ensuing ongoing technical SEO health through comprehensive audits, implementation, and proactive monitoring across six core pillars - crawlability & indexing, site speed & performance, canonicalization, internationalization, localization, and structured data. This person will work cross-functionally with product owners, developers, content teams, and marketing stakeholders to strengthen search performance, crawl efficiency, and user experience.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical Optimization

  • Lead technical SEO initiatives by identifying, prioritizing, and resolving crawlability, indexing, rendering, site performance, and content quality issues to improve organic search visibility and website health.
  • Monitor and optimize technical SEO performance, including Core Web Vitals, XML sitemaps, duplicate content, and other factors that impact search engine indexing and user experience.

Implementation & Quality Assurance

  • Partner with IT and development teams to define SEO requirements, support implementation, and validate technical enhancements throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Perform quality assurance testing to ensure SEO elements, including metadata, structured data, redirects, internal linking, and international SEO configurations, are accurately deployed and functioning as intended.

Project Management

  • Manage and prioritize the technical SEO backlog, coordinating work across cross-functional teams, tracking implementation progress, documenting completed enhancements, and supporting SEO governance.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Monitor technical SEO performance using industry-standard analytics and auditing tools, identify trends and issues, and provide regular reporting and recommendations to support continuous optimization.

Training & Cross-Functional Support

  • Develop and maintain SEO documentation, standards, and best practices while providing guidance to marketing, content, IT, and development teams to ensure SEO is integrated into ongoing website enhancements and new digital initiatives.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education

  • A Bachelor's' Degree in marketing or business-related field.

Experience

  • Experience working with large-scale website(s) with at least 1 million urls.
  • 5+ years of experience in technical SEO with multi-language and multi-location websites.
  • Proficiency with SEO and web analytics tools such as: Semrush, Google Search Console, GA4, and Screaming Frog.
  • Strong knowledge of HTML, JavaScript rendering, structured data, and page performance metrics.
  • Experience with CMS platforms (Sitecore preferred) and version-controlled deployments.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong project management and documentation skills; experience working within Agile or sprint-based workflows preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to collaborate across IT, content, and marketing functions.
  • Ability to travel as needed
