In this role, you'll help improve the comfort, safety, health, and energy efficiency of homes across our communities while gaining valuable construction, building science, and energy-efficiency experience. What You'll DoAs a Weatherization Technician Intern, you will:
- Install insulation and other energy-efficiency improvements
- Assist with home repairs and weatherization projects
- Seal and improve residential duct systems
- Follow safety standards, building codes, and program requirements
- Identify and document opportunities for home performance improvements
- Communicate effectively with team members and homeowners
- Support continuous improvement efforts and learn advanced weatherization techniques
What We're Looking ForWe're looking for individuals who:
- Enjoy hands-on work and learning new skills
- Take pride in producing quality results
- Work well independently and as part of a team
- Have strong attention to safety
- Are dependable, adaptable, and motivated to learn
Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record
- Basic math skills
- Ability to safely use tools, equipment, and materials
- Basic computer and mobile device proficiency
- Vocational or technical training preferred
Schedule & Travel- Seasonal position: through Mid-August
- Typical schedule: Monday-Thursday, four 10-hour days
- Daily daytime travel required
- Up to 50% overnight travel
- Occasional evening and weekend work may be necessary
