Job description

Position: Weapons Department Support Type: Full-Time Location: Coronado, CA Travel: 10% Clearance: SECRET **CONTINGENT UPON AWARD** Position Summary: Weapons Department Support personnel provide essential logistical and operational assistance to the LOGSU-1 Weapons Department, directly supporting the Weapons Officer and Leading Chief Petty Officer (LCPO). This role ensures accountability, readiness, and sustainment of arms, ammunition, and equipment by managing inventory processes, handling material receipts and shipments, and maintaining accurate records in automated logistics systems. The position plays a critical role in ensuring mission readiness by supporting daily armory, ordnance, and weapons logistics operations. The impact of this role directly contributes to the operational effectiveness of Naval Special Warfare forces. Duties and Responsibilities: • Assist Weapons Officer and LCPO in daily operations of the Weapons Department (Armory, Ordnance, and VAS divisions) • Receive, issue, and store materiel, parts, and repair components • Perform inventory verification against shipping documentation (National Stock Number (NSN), quantity, cost, etc.) • Prepare materials for shipment ensuring proper handling and damage prevention • Maintain and track inventory using automated inventory management systems • Monitor minimum inventory levels and recommend adjustments • Utilize logistics systems including: o Naval Tactical Command Support System (NTCSS) Relational Supply (R-Supply) o SWIFT (BizFlow), NAVSUP OneTouch, Government Distribution and Accounting Property List (GDAPL), and Federal Logistics Data (FEDLOG) • Identify and process excess property redistribution or disposal (Supply Support Activity (SSA) / Defense Reutilization and Marketing Office (DRMO)) • Support inventory audits and compliance inspections Required Skills and Abilities: • Experience: Experience with logistics or inventory management systems • Experience: Installation-level or strategic logistics support programs • Skills: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inventory/accountability tasks • Skills: Military-style correspondence • Clearance: Secret • U.S. citizen • Driver's License required • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) • Must be able to operate Government vehicles, forklifts, and vans • Must maintain professional work ethic and reliability • Must demonstrate effective communication skills • Must maintain accurate documentation and reporting • Must comply with security, safety, and drug-free workplace requirements • Must be capable of working within classified environments and systems (NIPRNET/SIPRNET) • Ability to lift and carry equipment and materials • Capability to stand, walk, and work in warehouse/armory environments for extended periods • Ability to operate material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks) • Ability to work in indoor and outdoor operational environments Physical Demands and Work Environment: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk, listen, and write. The employee frequently is required to use foot/ankle motions, hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
