Landscape Architectural Designer – Unlock Your Growth Potential with WDA Design Group

Are you a passionate Landscape Architectural Designer looking for the next step in your career? At WDA Design Group, we don’t just design projects—we shape communities.  As a well-established, multi-disciplinary site design firm, we are committed to delivering innovative solutions for residential, commercial, institutional, and municipal land development.

We’re seeking a skilled and motivated Landscape Architectural Designer to join our team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in designing and overseeing diverse projects, working closely with clients, municipalities, and stakeholders to bring creative site solutions to life.

What You’ll Do:

  • Utilize CAD and other design tools to plan and design land development projects – residential, commercial, institutional, and occasionally municipal;
  • Provide project management, guidance and oversite of junior design staff;
  • Assist with project permitting, including preparation and presentation of reports and applications to the public detailing proposed designs, environmental benefits and other pertinent information;
  • Observe project sites and monitor progress of construction to ensure work conforms to applicable standards, regulations, and design specifications;
  • In conjunction with clients and contractors, provide value engineering and respond to requests for information during construction;
  • Meet clients, fellow consultants and subcontractors out in field;
  • Work with other senior staff on business development, scheduling weekly work assignments, reviewing proposals and invoices.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture; Master’s Degree and Registration a plus;
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience in landscape architectural design including feasibility studies site design, grading and planting design as well as project management;
  • Thorough knowledge of plant material;
  • Must be proficient in AutoCAD / Civil 3D, Microsoft Office, Adobe products; Photoshop and Illustrator, a plus;
  • Expertise in construction administration and regulatory permitting for residential, commercial, and institutional land development projects in Massachusetts;
  • Capable and confident staff leadership and construction administration skills;
  • Self-directed, organized and self-motivated to accomplish goals;
  • Excellent teamwork, communication and people skills;
  • Experience working in a collaborative team environment;
  • Ability to work with clients, town boards, cooperating subs, and other project related parties to maintain smooth project management;
  • Ability to deliver effective presentations to clients and Town Boards;
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a deadline-driven challenging environment.
