Job description

The Quality & Continuous Improvement Manager (internally referred to as: Operational Excellence Manager) plays a critical role in driving a culture of continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and quality excellence within our Louisville, KY facility. This role leads the development, implementation, and oversight of the site's Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) programs, ensuring full compliance with corporate and regulatory standards. The position provides strategic leadership to the Quality Department and related technical functions, aligning people, processes, and performance with business objectives.

As a key member of the leadership team, the Operational Excellence Manager maintains and enhances the plant's AS9100 Quality Management System, oversees EHS program execution, and champions World Class Manufacturing (WCM) methodologies to strengthen process capability and overall operational performance. This position collaborates closely with cross-functional partners, customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to promote customer focus, mitigate risk, and advance continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in a Science or Engineering discipline (Required)
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Science, Business, or a related field (Preferred)

Work Experience

  • A minimum of one year of experience in personnel management, technology implementation, and project management (Required)
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant manufacturing engineering experience (Preferred)

Technical & Practical Knowledge

  • Thorough understanding of engineering principles, theories, and practical application (Required)
  • Experience maintaining or improving Quality Management Systems, ideally AS9100
  • Knowledge of EHS compliance requirements and related regulatory expectations
  • Familiarity with process improvement methodologies, including WCM, lean, or continuous improvement tools
  • Capability to support prototype-to-production transitions and ensure manufacturability

Certifications

  • Green Belt Certification (Preferred)
  • WCM / Continuous Improvement Certification (Preferred)
