Waymo Operations exists to deliver the Waymo Driver to the world. We are a global team building and scaling the world's first and leading autonomous fleet and operations platform. From component sourcing to end customer management, we enable and create value for Waymo through scaled and orchestrated deployment of the Waymo Driver. In this hybrid role, you will report to the Director, Waymo Product Operations and Planningย 

You will:

  • Develop operational systems to support standardized work, problem solving, process definition, and a continuous improvement culture in Waymo Ops organization across lines of business
  • Drive system level process improvement initiatives to streamline human dependent processes, reduce variability, waste, and cost and positively impact key business metrics such as quality supply, throughput flow
  • Help ingrain unmistakable DNA for Waymo Operations that transcends markets and partners, and sets standards in the AV ecosystem
  • Facilitate cross functional problem solving to design counter measures and corrective actions collaboratively
  • Lead team, as well as coach and teach people on measuring and driving operational efficiencies
  • Be a key strategic thought partner for cross functional leaders across the organization

You have:

  • 17+ years of experience in operations management, program management, and/or process improvements
  • Excellent and superior problem solving and process improvement skills: ability to break down ambiguous and complex operational problems into manageable segments, draw insights from data and structured observation and establish standards
  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders at various levels to successfully drive strategy of the function and business outcome
  • Solid experience planning for and managing several large-scale, complex projects and coordinating cross functional project members to deliver quality results on time
  • Excellent people management skills as well as a track record of delivering results through relationship building, collaboration, consultation communication and influencing
  • Bachelor's Degree(s) in Operations Management, Business, Engineering, or related field in technology focused industry

We prefer:

  • Experience driving organization toward process maturity, lean culture transformation
  • Experience in workflow optimization and process excellence, specifically in hybrid environment of extended workforce and full-time employees, involving hand-offs
  • Familiarity with safety-critical operations where standardized operations and clear instructions are vital to risk mitigation and regulatory adherence.
  • Experience developing or leading quality management or document management systems based on industry standards
  • Technology forward mindset to drive process and operational excellence such as use of leading AI tools, driving efficiency via use of agentic-AI driven operational workflows
  • Masters Degree(s) in Industrial Engineering, Business or related technical field
