Job description

Starting salary for Universal Banker position is $19.50 an hour and up, depending on experience.
Your job purpose as a Universal Banker...
Under direct supervision of an Assistant Branch Manager or Community President, this position is responsible for assisting customers in a dual role (40% Platform/60% Teller) focused on delivering outstanding service with every customer interaction. The Universal Banker I will perform teller transactions, service existing customers, and offer product and service solutions to existing customers or prospects when appropriate and beneficial. The Universal Banker I is responsible for completing all training, passing Banker Certification within 18 months of hire/promotion date and demonstrate their ability to meet/exceed customer and job expectations prior to progressing to Universal Banker II.
What you'll be doing in your role...
  • Efficiently process customer transactions with a high level of integrity, accuracy and knowledge. Operates in full compliance with internal policies/procedures, as well as applicable regulations/laws.
  • Offer bank products to existing customers and/or prospects using the established sales process while maintaining sales and procedural proficiency in all services. Accurately open, maintain, and close deposit accounts and services.
  • Identify, expand and deepen customer relationships by profiling customers in an effort to recommend appropriate products and services that meet customer needs. Make referrals to other appropriate lines of business including Residential Lending, Business Banking, Commercial Real Estate, WIS and Merchant Services to meet customer needs.
  • Engage in reactive sales and cross-sell activities, including service-related activities, making outbound onboarding and campaign calls and follow-up with customer as appropriate and on referrals received. Answer customer questions and resolve related account issues, including phone and in-person.
  • Maintain knowledge of WSB's core processing system, WSB products and services, WSB policies and procedures, and regulatory requirements governing retail deposit accounts.
  • Focus on the skills and attributes in order to complete the Banker Certification process
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience
  • Required: 1 - 2 years of sales experience
  • Required: 2-4 years customer service experience
  • Preferred: 2-4 years of sales and customer service experience in branch banking

Education
  • Required: High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Preferred: Associate's Degree business or related field

Certifications, Licenses, Registration
Required: Banker Certification within18 months of hire/promotion date
