Job description

Watermark, located at the end of south street on Pier 15 NYC, directly on the East River, is looking for a few awesome bartenders for its "Watermark Beach" Summer Activation. We are a vibrant waterfront themed restaurant serving up fresh seafood, hot off the grill burgers, tropical cocktails and fun in the sun vibes with a smile. We care about our team members and guests as well as the products we serve and we are BUSY! We have a fun and welcoming environment where a positive attitude and good communication skills are a must. The ideal candidates would excel in a fast paced, high volume setting, as well as having a friendly and outgoing demeanor that connects with our guests for a positive dining experience. Job Description

Title: Bartender

Reports to: General Manager

Over time: Non-Exempt

Summary of Position

Provide timely, accurate and friendly service while preparing the highest quality of beverages for our guests.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Take beverage orders from guests and servers.
  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consistent with the Restaurants standard drink recipes.
  • Learn the names and personally recognize our regular guests.
  • Accept guests payments, process credit card charges and makes change (if applicable).
  • Prepare garnishes for drinks and replenish appetizers for bar guests.
  • Maintain bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beverages.
  • Clear and reset tables in bar area.
  • Present drink menus, make recommendations and answer questions regarding beverages and/ or menu items.
  • Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves, and storage areas.
  • Receive and serve food orders to guests seated at the bar.
  • Report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to the General Manger of the restaurant or the manager on duty.
  • Assist the restocking and replenishments of bar inventory and supplies.
  • Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the General Manager or Manger on Duty.
  • Assist in alcohol inventory.

Qualifications

  • Be able to communicate and understand English.
  • Be willing to serve and entertain guests according to the perceived atmosphere and expectation of guests.
  • Have a working knowledge of beer, wine, and liquor and common drink recipes.
  • Have an understanding of food allergies.
  • Possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system.
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 10 hours).
  • Be able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 40 pounds.
