Job description

Job Summary
The Alpine Operator will facilitate the Alpine Slide operation while providing great service, a quality program and safe recreation.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Uphold and support department expectations, Great Service and Safe Recreation.
  • Assist department in minimizing liability and risk.
  • Follow activity standard operating procedures (SOP's).
  • Complete proper set up and clean up duties assigned as outlined on the SOP.
  • Verify protocol is followed: ensure all participants have a valid "Release" wrist band and lift RFID card prior to the activity.
  • Load and unload the Alpine Slide carts from the track to the chairlift.
  • Prep and check that all lift chairs, runs, signage, staging areas and carts are safe for daily operations and check/monitor during shift.
  • Be alert and assist guests on and off chairlifts. Give verbal instructions every time to ensure safety.
  • Be alert and assist guests on and off Alpine Slide. Educate guests on proper/safe sliding with verbal instructions every time.
  • Participate in ski lift evacuation training exercise and actual lift evacuations, if necessary.
  • Complete all required forms such as the Daily Lift Log, Slide Maintenance Log and Sled Maintenance Log.
  • Complete all lift related incident forms accurately, legibly and timely.
  • Keep area around Alpine Slide clean and trash free.
  • Communicate to Lead or Supervisor any operation observation or guest comments/concerns.
  • Organize Alpine Slide gear and storage.
  • Work special events and other programming as needed. Assist with private group blocks.
  • Follow all safe work practices to include the use of personal protection equipment (PPE) and Blood Borne Pathogens (BBP) procedures when around injuries.
  • Interact and provide a safe, fun environment always.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Specifications
Competencies:
  • Lift operations experience preferred but not required
  • Excellent guest service.
  • Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills. Able to read and follow manuals and procedures.
  • Must possess a high level of concentration, self-motivation, the ability to multi-task and the drive to have fun!
  • Previous experience working with children a plus.
  • Must have the ability to work independently.
  • Must be dependable and able to meet goals.
  • Exemplifies professional conduct and adherence to company Core Values.

Education:
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Combination of education and experience that enables performance of all aspects of the position.

Physical & Other Requirements:
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to extreme heat.
  • Evenings, weekends and holidays are a regular part of the schedule.
  • Must have excellent attendance and conduct record for consideration.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Unrestricted and insurable driving record preferred.
  • Non-smoking candidates preferred.
