What is a Water Foreman?

A Water Foreman is a supervisory professional responsible for overseeing the operation, maintenance, and repair of water distribution systems, including pipelines, pumps, and related infrastructure. They manage crews, schedule work, ensure safety protocols are followed, and address water quality and supply issues. Water Foremen also coordinate with engineers, monitor project progress, and respond to emergencies such as leaks or main breaks. To thrive as a Water Foreman, you need strong knowledge of water distribution systems, supervisory experience, and typically a high school diploma or equivalent with relevant certifications in water operations.
