The Opportunity

In this role you will have the opportunity to: 

  • Build business relationships with clients to understand needs and drivers. 
  • Develop solutions for complex engineering problems for existing client facilities. 
  • Coordinate with local electrical utilities on project technical needs. 
  • Construction inspection and resolution of electrical construction issues. 
  • Startup and testing of major electrical equipment. 
  • Lead projects including management of project schedules, budgets, and staffing on the Water Solution team. 
  • Provide technical guidance on client standards and expectations to engineering and technician staff in the regional design centers that are supporting project detailed design. 
  • Serve as technical expert in electrical power distribution and miscellaneous plant electrical systems for client consultations. 
  • Support business development related to enhanced Electrical services. 
  • Review of supplier submittals. 
  • Act as a liaison between the local design team, client and remote design teams for Electrical design. 
  • Continuoually learning and development of technical expertise/specialty area.

As part ofBV Operations, your skills will be aligned to projects that support our Integrated Water & Environmental business.  BV's Integrated Water & Environmental business works to provide innovative solutions and integrated planning, design and construction support for municipal clients, as well as industrial clients and environmental services support. By joining our business, you will be able to provide infrastructure for community benefit through regulated utilities, government agencies, and industrial customers.  

This team partners with our customers to align their people, processes, technologies, and data analytics in the face of industry transformation. We help our customers leverage our industry-leading solutions and expertise to modernize water infrastructure, optimize asset use, meet performance goals, reduce costs, and mitigate risk no matter where the water industry goes next. This team is ranked in the top 10 by ENR for Water Design Firms in Water Supply and Sewer Waste and other water-related rankings.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer's license in GA or another US jurisdiction 
  • 5 years in electrical design, planning and construction services 
  • Consulting and Water/Wastewater experience preferred 
  • Experience in medium and low voltage power distribution equipment, including variable frequency drives and standby diesel generators  
  • Experience in a client-facing/business development role 
  • Power system analysis experience in SKM, ETAP, or other analysis software a plus 
Minimum Qualifications
  • Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing or equivalent experience in Engineering work
  • Minimum of 5 years related work experience
  • All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
  • Holds an active engineering registration or licensure to support engineer of record (EOR) requirements for BV projects in applicable countries, and supports where necessary.
