Chart's Stafford, TX location is seeking a Design Engineer to plan, design and coordinate the integration of CPI parts and services into the compression industry. This successful candidate will interact with customers and field sales engineers to determine application requirements to identify and meet customer specifc needs.
What Will You Do?
  • Advise and assist customers regarding product features and benefits.
  • Analyze and create engineering drawings & specifications in response to technical inquires.
  • Develop manufacturing cost estimates.
  • Prepare documentation for execution of new production orders, engineering change requests, and engineering change orders.
  • Participate in various team activities including design reviews, feasibility evaluations, program reviews, and lean manufacturing events.
  • Key contact for supporting customer needs through on-site visits, technical consultation and problem resolution.
  • Engages in commercial activities including (but not limited to) participation in: customer visits (with or without sales engineers), marketing efforts (papers, campaigns, etc.) and trade shows / conferences.
  • Development of relationships with key customers.
  • Assist in the development and presentation of technical seminars.
  • Operate within commercial teams to coordinate internal and external sales relationships.
  • Observe all safety standards and ensure company compliance.

Your Experience Should Be...
  • BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in the reciprocating compressor or similar industry highly preferred
  • Solid Works is required
  • AutoCAD experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office suite preferred
  • Demonstrated use of strong interpersonal skills in a customer facing capacity is required
  • Experience in dealing with oil refining, and pipeline gathering, processing and storage facilities
  • Experience dealing with highly matrixed organizations
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Desired skill in taking field measurements of mechanical equipment
  • Up to 15% Travel Requirement
