Join our team at Wasatch Behavioral Health as a Full-Time Autism Aid II with the Giant Steps Preschool Program in Utah County. This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting children with autism and contributing to a collaborative, mission-driven environment. With a competitive wage of $18.22–$23.08, you'll play an essential part in helping young learners develop skills that shape their future.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Compensation: $18.22–$23.08 DOE and Education

What You'll Do as an Autism Aid II

  • Support therapeutic activities for children with autism
  • Implement and monitor behavior plans
  • Observe interests and encourage meaningful engagement
  • Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment
  • Communicate clearly to promote learning and cooperation
  • Model appropriate social behavior and routines
  • Supervise children and support skill development
  • Assist with daily preschool functions
  • Step into a leadership role when needed

Qualifications

  • High school diploma
    AND
  • Two (2) years of relevant college coursework (Social Work, Psychology, Special Education, Elementary Education, Child Development, or related field)
  • One (1) year of experience as an Autism Aide I
    OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Patience, empathy, and professionalism when working with young children
  • Ability to follow established guidelines and adapt to changing needs
  • Experience with children or individuals with special needs preferred
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn
  • Spanish-speaking applicants may qualify for a wage increase

Employment at Wasatch Behavioral Health is contingent upon successful completion of a drug screen, motor vehicle record review and criminal background check. After hire you must complete and receive a Criminal Background Clearance (BCI) from Utah State Office of Licensing. Upon receipt of a conditional offer of employment in the position, you must provide an official copy of licensure or certification.
