Job description

The Warehouse Associate works primarily in the inbound or outbound department of a branch warehouse. As this is an entry level role, experience is less important than personal integrity and a strong work ethic. Employees who learn quickly, take direction, and exhibit the traits of a successful Rentex team member will receive opportunities for advancement within the company.

Employees in this role have an area of first responsibility (the department they report to each morning) where they will spend approximately 75% of their time. Any employee may be reassigned for a few hours, or a few days, to work in any other warehouse department. These short reassignments are dictated by the flow of work and the demands of the business. Each employee should expect to spend approximately 25% of their time working in other departments.

As employees grow, their area of first responsibility may be changed to a different department.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer support for walk-in customers
  • Load and unload trucks safely
  • Scan-in equipment, by order, in compliance with Rentex policy and procedure
  • Check for missing equipment and report on findings
  • Count cables and miscellaneous items
  • Double-check anything requiring a signature
  • Follow direction of the department leader and managers
  • Reshelve equipment that does not require quality Control (QC)
  • Pull and prep orders with excellence and high attention to detail
  • Maintain safe, organized, and clean work environment to ensure safety and compliance
  • Comply with written and posted company policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not supervise other employees.

Work Environment

This job operates in a warehouse environment.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs. The employee must occasionally lift or move objects up to 50 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a fullΒ­time position. Days and hours of work are subject to change and may rotate. Needs of the business may dictate long hours and weekend work during high demand periods.

Minimum Qualifications:

β€’ Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to graduation from high school or a GED

β€’ Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

β€’ Basic knowledge in set-up, operation, and troubleshooting of computer and audio-visual equipment.

β€’ Prior experience in live event production

β€’ Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
