Position Summary

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse activities related to shipping, receiving, order picking, inventory control, and material flow operations. This role supports the Warehouse Manager by directing hourly warehouse personnel, ensuring operational efficiency, maintaining inventory accuracy, and promoting a safe and organized work environment. The Warehouse Supervisor ensures daily operations are executed safely, accurately, and on schedule to meet customer and operational requirements.

Warehouse Operations

  • Supervise daily warehouse operations including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, staging, loading, and shipping activities.
  • Ensure customer orders are picked, processed, and shipped accurately and on time.
  • Coordinate daily workflow and labor assignments to support operational priorities and production schedules.
  • Monitor warehouse activity to maintain productivity, accuracy, and efficient material flow.
  • Assist with maintaining warehouse organization, cleanliness, and proper storage practices.

Inventory Control

  • Support inventory accuracy through cycle counts, inventory audits, FIFO practices, and proper transaction processing.
  • Monitor inventory movement and investigate discrepancies or material issues.
  • Ensure materials and finished goods are properly labeled, stored, and handled throughout the warehouse.
  • Assist with inventory reporting and reconciliation activities as needed.

Team Leadership

  • Direct and support warehouse associates in daily operations and work assignments.
  • Train employees on warehouse procedures, safety practices, and equipment operation.
  • Monitor employee performance, attendance, productivity, and adherence to operational standards.
  • Promote accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the warehouse team.
  • Communicate operational priorities and expectations clearly to employees.

Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce company safety policies, warehouse procedures, and housekeeping standards.
  • Ensure proper and safe operation of forklifts and material handling equipment.
  • Identify unsafe conditions and assist with corrective actions and incident investigations.
  • Promote safe work practices and maintain compliance with OSHA and company requirements.

Communication & Coordination

  • Coordinate with Warehouse Management, Production, Customer Service, and Shipping personnel to support daily operations.
  • Communicate inventory concerns, shipping issues, staffing needs, and operational updates to management.
  • Monitor daily operational performance and assist in achieving warehouse KPIs related to safety, quality, productivity, and accuracy.
  • Support process improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and workflow.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of warehouse, shipping, receiving, or distribution experience.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of shipping, receiving, inventory control, and warehouse operations.
  • Experience operating forklifts and material handling equipment preferred.
  • Working knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead employees in a fast-paced warehouse or manufacturing environment.
  • Basic understanding of warehouse safety and quality standards.

Work Environment

  • Work performed in a warehouse and/or manufacturing environment.
  • Frequent standing, walking, lifting, and operating around moving equipment.
