Join Our Team as a Procurement Manager
VPI Compounding is looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Procurement Manager to join our team. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys researching vendors, comparing pricing, reviewing data, sourcing supplies, and finding cost-effective solutions for the company.
The Procurement Manager will support VPI by helping source quality products, materials, supplies, equipment, APIs, and other pharmacy-related items. This position will work closely with leadership and departments across the company to review purchasing needs, identify better vendor options, analyze costs, and help improve the overall procurement process.
Key Responsibilities
As the Procurement Manager at VPI Compounding, your responsibilities will include:
  • Source vendors, suppliers, products, materials, equipment, and purchasing options based on company needs.
  • Research and compare vendor options, pricing, product availability, lead times, and quality.
  • Request quotes, review proposals, and help identify the most cost-effective purchasing solutions.
  • Analyze purchasing data, pricing trends, vendor performance, and spending patterns.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and provide recommendations to leadership.
  • Work with vendors and suppliers to negotiate pricing, terms, and purchasing options when applicable.
  • Support purchasing decisions for office supplies, operational supplies, equipment, APIs, drugs, and other approved company needs.
  • Help evaluate current vendors and identify backup or alternative suppliers when needed.
  • Track procurement activity and maintain organized records of vendor information, pricing, quotes, and purchasing decisions.
  • Work closely with leadership, Operations, Warehouse, Admin, and other departments to understand purchasing needs.
  • Support compliance by ensuring procurement records and vendor documentation are organized and maintained.
  • Work with leadership and department leads to understand purchasing needs and upcoming supply or equipment needs.

Qualifications
  • Experience in procurement, purchasing, sourcing, vendor management, supply chain, inventory, or operations preferred.
  • Strong interest in data analysis, pricing review, and finding cost-effective solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable using spreadsheets, tracking tools, purchasing data, and vendor records.
  • Ability to compare pricing, review quotes, and provide organized recommendations.
  • Strong communication skills with vendors, leadership, and internal team members.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on tasks.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Operations Management, Finance, Data Analytics, or a related field preferred.

Physical Demands
  • Must be able to work at a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to communicate by email, phone, and in person as needed.
  • May occasionally assist with checking, locating, or reviewing inventory, supplies, or equipment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with vendor sourcing or supplier comparison.
  • Experience reviewing purchasing data, cost trends, or spend reports.
  • Interest in data analytics, pricing analysis, and finding cost-effective solutions.
  • Experience negotiating pricing, terms, or vendor agreements is a plus.
  • Experience using Excel, Google Sheets, or other purchasing/tracking systems.
