Position Summary

For more than 30 years, our Management Development Associate program has developed our future leaders. As a Management Development Associate, you will embark on a personal and professional development experience a classroom simply can't offer. 

As a Procurement Management Development Associate at Nestle Purina, we will coach you from the start, shaping your career trajectory for continuous learning and growth. Together, we'll explore quality assurance, safety, supply chain, engineering, human resources, production, R&D engineering, information systems, and operations performance to understand how each of these areas collaborate with procurement. You'll also gain insight into material life cycles and will be able to develop and manage sourcing strategies that ensure cost-effective procurement while maintaining quality and compliance with safety standards.

  • Develop knowledge, awareness, and understanding of the consumer-packaged goods (CPG) and pet care industries, including understanding the consumer and/or pet owner, knowing Purina brands, their competition, and the ability to identify and analyze segment trends. 

  • Partner with other functional groups in developing strategy, material, or supplier needs for the project's outlined Scope of Work. 

  • Consider current and future demand, and work with your team to ensure Business Continuity Plans are in place for key materials. 

  • Experience internal and external procurement operations, including physical material life cycle, end-to-end factory operations, fulfillment, production scheduling, finished goods forecasting process, and interpretation into material needs. 

  • Champion internal and external working relationships that provide exposure to various disciplines, account management, and customer teams. 

  • Complete training in warehouse, transportation, and customer service functions. 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Engineering or related discipline attained or expected by June 2027 

  • Must be open to relocation to any of our 24 Nestle Purina manufacturing sites across the U.S. as you progress through the MDA program 

  • You will start your rotation for this Procurement MDA at the Nestle Purina factory in Davenport, Iowa

The starting pay for this position is $73,000 per year. Please note that the pay provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.
