Bakery Team Leader - D Shift
Position Summary: The Bakery Team Leader (BTL) is responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient manufacturing of products. In addition, the Bakery Team Leader position is accountable for ensuring that production scheduled for completion is executed in a timely manner and within all quality parameters. The position is also responsible for personnel scheduling, time and attendance, and vacation scheduling.
Job Duties:
• Create and maintain a safety-first culture by ensuring the safety and productivity of all associates assigned to the designated shift
• Work with safety manager and product manager to investigate and report all incidents including but not limited to spills, hazards, accidents, performance, etc
• Maintain food safe environment by enforcing all safety, GMP, processing and packaging procedures
• Minimize material waste
• Maintain a clean and safe workplace
• Monitor labor cost by right size crew
• Suggest and implement cost saving ideas
• Communication meetings with crew is required
• Perform performance reviews with crew twice a year
• Assist in training new associates and coach existing associates
• Ability to work overtime as required
• Perform production start-up and continuous monitoring of the line operation
• Assign line workers to their position on the line and provide instructions as required
• Ensure team and individuals are performing their job functions efficiently and effectively
• Daily reporting as required
Qualifications:
• Associate's degree preferred. Three to five years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have three to five years prior experience in a food and/or beverage-manufacturing environment
• Leadership skills, ability to lead a diverse work group, focused on results, employee engagement, decision making and teamwork
• Intimate operating knowledge of manufacturing equipment and processes
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
• Proficient problem solving and analytical skills
• Computer proficiency is required in Outlook, SAP, Microsoft office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to multi-task and set priorities
• Associate's degree preferred. Three to five years' related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation.
