Job description

Peak Workforce Solutions is hiring GREAT people for IMMEDIATE Warehouse Coordinator - 2nd Shift position for our client located in York, SC

Pay: $30.00 per hour

Job Description: 

Warehouse Operations

  • Coordinate daily warehouse activities to ensure timely delivery of materials to production and assembly areas.
  • Monitor inventory levels and support replenishment activities to prevent production interruptions.
  • Ensure compliance with established warehouse processes, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems (WMS), SAP, or other inventory control systems.
  • Conduct cycle counts and assist with physical inventory audits.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and material shortages.

PIV Equipment Operations

  • Safely operate powered industrial vehicles, including forklifts, reach trucks, tuggers, pallet jacks, and order pickers.
  • Load, unload, transport, and stage materials throughout the facility.
  • Perform daily equipment inspections and document findings according to company requirements.
  • Ensure all PIV operations comply with OSHA, company safety policies, and site-specific requirements.
  • Report equipment malfunctions and coordinate maintenance as needed.

Shipping and Receiving

  • Verify incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy and completeness.
  • Process receiving documentation and maintain shipment records.
  • Coordinate material flow between receiving, storage locations, production lines, and shipping departments.
  • Support carrier interactions and dock scheduling activities when required.

Continuous Improvement

  • Participate in Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve warehouse efficiency, safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Support problem-solving activities and corrective action implementation.
  • Assist with training new employees on warehouse procedures and safe equipment operation.

The Ideal Candidate Should:

    • High School Diploma or GED.
    • Certified or qualified to operate Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIV) or ability to obtain certification.
    • Minimum of 2 years of warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, or inventory control experience.
    • Experience with inventory management systems, warehouse software, or ERP platforms.
    • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
    • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Associate degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field.
    • SAP or warehouse management system experience.
    • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
    • Experience coordinating warehouse activities or leading teams.

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds routinely.
    • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the workday.
    • Ability to safely operate powered industrial vehicles for extended periods.
    • Ability to work in a warehouse and manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
