Job description

Toyo Tires designs, manufactures, and distributes tires for automotive OEM and aftermarket channels. The Georgia Distribution Center Manager is responsible for the overall performance of warehouse operations, including customer service, inbound freight monitoring, goods receipt, inventory management, customer order scheduling, and transportation planning. This position has no direct reports but provides oversight and direction to a third-party logistics provider responsible for material handling, order fulfillment, shipment preparation, and general warehouse operations. The role establishes warehouse performance objectives and is accountable for achieving targets related to customer service, cost, productivity, safety, and operational performance. The position also works with Toyo legal entities to ensure transparency and alignment with business goals, forecasts, and requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Warehouse Operations in Partnership with 3PL
  • Provides oversight and direction to the 3PL for daily warehouse operations, including safety, labor planning, equipment utilization, and facility performance.
  • Reviews inbound and outbound workload daily and coordinates work priorities to support on-time delivery to customers.
  • Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by coordinating and enforcing Toyo programs, operational standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Develop warehouse layouts and procedures to safely and efficiently utilize available space and support the movement of tires through the warehouse.
  • Reviews warehouse operations to ensure procedures are followed, training is effective, and expected results are achieved in housekeeping, safety, security, packaging, storage, and material handling.
  • Manages cycle counts and physical inventory activities, including reporting, reconciliation, and follow-up actions.
  • Oversees quality assurance holds, product inspections, and inventory requests from the QA team.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local requirements for warehousing, material handling, and shipping, and advises management on required actions.
  • Reviews and documents delivery performance for suppliers, carriers, and customers.
  • Monitors carrier equipment availability and dwell times to minimize detention charges and support efficient transportation flow.
  • Works closely with Toyo manufacturing and onsite departments to ensure consistency with HR, legal, and operational requirements across the Toyo group.

Personnel Administration
  • Partners with the 3PL to ensure appropriate staffing levels, workforce capability, and a safe, secure, cost-effective warehouse environment that meets company, regulatory, and labor requirements.
  • Coordinates with the 3PL and Toyo stakeholders to support staffing needs, onboarding requirements, and compliance with applicable employment procedures and regulations.
  • Ensures new personnel assigned to Toyo operations receive appropriate site orientation, safety expectations, and operational procedure training.
  • Reviews 3PL workforce performance trends and service levels, and partners with 3PL leadership to address gaps, support development, and improve operational effectiveness.
  • Escalates staffing, performance, conduct, or compliance concerns through appropriate 3PL and Toyo management channels.
  • Supports cross-training and workforce flexibility initiatives to maintain operational continuity and meet changing business demands.
  • Attend daily meetings with 3PL, Logistics Department and TTC/NTU Sales

Expense and Asset Control/Security
  • Prepares and supports the annual warehouse budget, monitors expenditures, analyzes variances, and initiates corrective actions to achieve financial objectives.
  • Ensures appropriate safeguards are in place to protect the facility, equipment, product inventory, personnel, and company assets from loss, damage, or unauthorized access.
  • Ensures finished goods are properly identified, stored, controlled, and managed in accordance with company standards and inventory control procedures.
  • Maintains effective use of the warehouse management system (WMS) to support inventory visibility, accuracy, and operational reporting.
  • Coordinates monthly physical inventory activities and cycle counts to ensure inventory record accuracy and asset protection.
  • Conducts or coordinates periodic fire, safety, and security checks of the warehouse during and after normal business hours.
  • Oversees warehouse security processes, systems, and procedures, and escalates issues as needed to protect company assets.

Safety
  • Develops, maintains, and supports warehouse safety programs in compliance with applicable local, state, federal, and OSHA requirements.
  • Coordinates with the 3PL to schedule and conduct periodic safety meetings, training, and communication of safety expectations.
  • Conducts or coordinates safety, health, and housekeeping inspections to identify unsafe conditions or practices, control hazards, and ensure compliance with applicable standards.
  • Ensures personnel assigned to Toyo operations receive appropriate safety orientation, training, and instruction on safe work practices.
  • Verifies forklift operator certification records and related safety documentation are maintained in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures required personal protective equipment is available, properly used, and maintained in accordance with safety policies.
  • Develops, communicates, and supports enforcement of warehouse safety and health rules in coordination with 3PL leadership.
  • Investigates or supports investigation of accidents, incidents, and near misses, identifies root causes, and coordinates corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
