The Warehouse Manager has responsibility for all outbound shipments, movement of all products within the facility, and the resources necessary to support those operations. This role involves the coordination & development of slotting strategies for new and existing products, managing corporate assets, developing staff, applying process & procedures uniformly, and teams with other department managers to achieve the distribution goals for the facility.

Requirements


Education & Experience

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree.Preferably in logistics, supply chain management, or business.
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience in Warehousing and/or Distribution operations.
  • Proven experience managing teams, implementing process improvements, and working cross-functionally.
  • Six Sigma/Lean certification or experience a plus.


Previous Training

  • Management training in Warehousing and/or Distribution functions
  • Knowledge of proper safety procedures, equipment maintenance and warehouse best practices.
  • OSHA Standard 29 CFR 1910.178.

Responsibilities

  • Establish operational processes & procedures that support the efficient and accurate movement of inventory within the facility.
  • Effectively plans and coordinates the daily inbound container schedule.
  • Organize and provide proper documentation to purchasing for receipt according to corporate guidelines.
  • Coordinate container putaway schedule with Receiving.
  • Develop slotting strategy for warehouse inventory.
  • Perform daily audits in support of cycle count.
  • Inspect all warehouse equipment and order repairs when required.
  • Lead training and certification efforts for powered equipment according to OSHAโ€™s requirement.
  • Participates in the evaluation, hiring, and development of staff within the department.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to warehouse staff to accomplish daily objectives.
  • Organize and provide proper documentation to purchasing for receipt according to corporate guidelines.
  • Prioritize key tasks as directed by needs of the business.
  • Serves on management team that meets regularly to review department performance and activities.
  • Develop and maintain KPIโ€™s for department that are in line with distribution objectives.
  • Researches and resolves gaps in performance to drive improvement within department.
  • Teams with other internal department managers to maintain smooth flow of product and resources.
  • Maintains a clean and safe working environment.
  • Know, Apply, and Follow the Global Recycling Standard (GRS) within the department
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Working environment

  • This is a distribution position. The facility is not climate controlled, and subject to temperature changes in relation to the seasons.
  • Dust and fibers are part of a warehouse environment.Loloi strives to maintain a clean, clear, and safe work environment and expects all employees to do their part in that effort.
  • Loloiโ€™s rugs are produced using a variety of natural fibers, including: wool, cotton, and jute. Employee will come into contact with these through the normal course of performing everyday job duties.
  • Powered equipment is used throughout the distribution facility.Operation of this equipment may or may not be part of the job requirement, but employee must be aware of them in immediate and surrounding work areas.


Physical Requirements

  • While this is a management position with significant time spent in the office, distribution managers are expected to spend time daily on the floor, inspecting their departments, and communicating directly with employees in the work space.
  • Ability to stoop, stand, and lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with others.
