Job description

Position Summary:

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse and logistics operations, including inbound receiving, inventory storage, material handling, and outbound shipments within the solar panel manufacturing facility. This role ensures efficient material flow to support lean and just-in-time (JIT) production while maintaining inventory accuracy, safety compliance, and operational efficiency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Supervise daily warehouse operations including receiving, storage, material movement, and shipping activities.
  • Ensure timely and accurate inbound and outbound shipments to support manufacturing operations.
  • Coordinate inventory transactions and material flow in collaboration with Inventory Control and Production teams.
  • Monitor warehouse organization, space utilization, and material handling processes to maximize efficiency.
  • Ensure accurate inventory management through cycle counts, audits, and system transactions.
  • Support implementation and optimization of warehouse systems such as WMS, RFID, and barcoding technologies.
  • Coordinate with third-party logistics providers (3PL), carriers, and suppliers as needed.
  • Monitor shipping schedules, delivery performance, and logistics-related costs.
  • Enforce compliance with company safety procedures, OSHA regulations, and warehouse operational standards.
  • Train, coach, and supervise warehouse personnel to ensure productivity and compliance with procedures.
  • Maintain warehouse documentation, reports, and inventory records.
  • Assist in continuous improvement initiatives focused on warehouse efficiency, accuracy, and cost reduction.
  • Support problem-solving activities related to shipping discrepancies, inventory variances, and material shortages.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of materials to prevent damage or loss.
Qualifications:Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in warehouse, logistics, or supply chain operations within a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience in solar panel manufacturing, electronics, or industrial manufacturing environments is a plus.
Technical Knowledge:
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory control, and logistics processes.
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP systems, and inventory tracking tools.
  • Familiarity with RFID, barcoding systems, and material handling equipment.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and just-in-time (JIT) inventory practices preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
