Position Summary:

The Warehouse Lead will take the lead on a designated process, as assigned by the Warehouse Manager, and ensure that tasks are completed to a high standard. The lead will ensure that team members complete all tasks are completed on a daily basis for their responsible area. This position ensures shipments are routed according to customer specifications, cost-effective methods, and within the required timelines. The role requires strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills to coordinate daily shipping operations and support continuous improvement initiatives. The goal is to motivate other team members and be a self-motivated, positive team member to increase efficiency, profitability and customer satisfaction through committing to working hard, being reliable/punctual, keeping track of inventory for assigned client base and housing the product safely.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Motivate team members to ensure that all tasks are completed as assigned on a daily basis for the designated duties.
  • Responsible for routing and shipping orders to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment, utilizing warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP software, Power BI reporting, Customer Shipping Portals, and shipping platforms (e.g., FedEx, UPS, LTL portals).
  • Ability to be on your feet, walking for standing still for an 8-hour shift.
  • Coordinate daily outbound shipments, ensuring proper carrier selection and routing methods (LTL, FTL, parcel, etc.).
  • Review and approve shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing lists, and shipping labels.
  • Monitor and optimize shipping schedules, dock appointments, and carrier pickups.
  • Work with transportation providers to resolve delays or issues in transit.
  • Ensure compliance with all DOT, OSHA, and company safety standards.
  • Conduct daily audits to verify accuracy of shipments, labeling, and routing processes.
  • Communicate with customer service, sales, and inventory teams to resolve order or shipping discrepancies.
  • Train and mentor warehouse staff in shipping procedures, safety, and quality practices.
  • Have a positive, flexible attitude with a can-do attitude, ready to jump in to lend a hand at all costs.
  • Ensure that all tasks are completed on a daily basis before dismissing the team or leaving.
  • Support inventory control processes, including cycle counts and stock rotation.
  • Report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time shipping rate, shipping errors, and carrier performance.
  • Some maintenance ability to help with basic maintenance functions.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the warehouse manager.
Requirements:


Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 3+ years of warehouse or logistics experience, with at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of shipping methods, routing practices, and freight terminology.
  • Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and shipping software.
  • Forklift certification is a plus.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
